My Sig Ot was just denied. Airtight, open and shut case-- huge co-morbs, lost 50 pounds on pre-op diet, went to Dr. and nutritionist every 30 days, exercises an hour a day until he nearly sweats to death--- for 6 months----- "most beautiful chart I have ever seen" per surgeon's office...and denied.

Holy freaking hell. Holy goddamn hell.

That's just typical. Insurance companies seem to like to deny WLS right out of the gate hoping we won't file an appeal. As long as he meets all requirements and sends in documentation, they should approve him the next round. Did they say why on Gods green earth he was denied?

Oh Shari - that is just crazy!! I assume he is going to appeal. WLS is getting to be like SS benefits. You have to just expect denial and appeal.
