STRESS!!!!!!!

The stress in my house is so bad right now I am craving choc. like nobody's bussiness.  I am glad that I can't get out of the house or I would have already been bad and bought choc.  I need a break from all the stress and it is not going to happen anytime soon.   Between, my health, my husbands health, my daughters health, me trying to carry a heavy school load, hubby at wor****il 8 every night and kids, I am ready to scream!!  (there is more about the health posted on my page) I could use advice as to what you guys do when you are dealing with a lot of stress.

I have found that it is much easier to be low stress by using one small word. NO mom can you... honey will you... fellow worker will you??? Ummm  NO for me just learning to say no has helped me so much.  I know that the thing's Ive committed to are because I am interested in them or because I WANT to.  If things get too much I look for where I can cut back.

Health is obviously a priority and needs to be taken care of, but are there things you are doing that could wait?  are there places in your life where you can say NO?

Shari,  I agree with you and i already have those in the house, but you know you stil have those days when you want to go buy some "real" chocolate.  I am standing firm, it is just hard with everything going on right now.

I find that 1/2 cup of chocolate sorbet does the trick for me....  it is real sin with lots of sugar and a seriously chocolate taste... but no fat ....

Saying no is not a problem for me.  Really the stress is coming from the health issues going on in the house.  My husband is not doing well and I am worried about him.  The reality that two people in my house are looking at dialysis is a lot to handle and I think that is really what is at the base of all this.  I am just going to have to try and get my strength to deal with all this from God.  It is just hard to be faithful when you have so much on your plate.  But I will keep pluggin along!

well, it's hard. BUTT in bad stress times, I try to not react with bad for me food intake, instead I try one or more of the following: I will focus on walking when I feel like snapping.   I will cook lower fat but highly nutritious things like veggie soup or fresh fruit salad or whole grain breads or casseroles. I have gotten into my car and SCREAMED as loud as I could with all the windows rolled up I call my sisters or DD's and ***** til the cows come home. i have taken an old dish outside and threw it as hard as I could against a wall.  Then cleaned it up. I have written filthy dirty letters to whoever's faulth this is, then burn it or tear into tiny pieces after a while. I write letters to other people - nice letters.  Reason:  sometimes it helps to think of others and do nice things for them Come here to post, read other people's blogs.
