Newbie
I am new to this board. I started out going to have surgery and for some reason it just didnt happen for me. I really want to lose the weight I just dont think surgery is for me. I would love to try to do it on my own I just have so much trouble getting started but once I do I am great for abt a month and then a whole new girl comes out and stuffs her face worse than before. I was just wondering if there is anyone here has any idea of how to help me control myself better with food. How to get started. Would love a pal to do it with me. Be able to talk to daily or every few days abt how well or how bad I have done. I am at the point to where I dont even know how to start. Can anyone give me some advice or just give me pep talk.
Thanks PlumCrazyGirl
Pep talk... here's my advice/ pep talk for you!
Weight loss is a formula. Input (eating) needs to be less than Output (calories burnt). Nutrition is a healthy balanced 'input'.
When I very first started I went on a preprepared diet meal plan for about 10 weeks. It cost me an absolute fortune. But it worked to kickstart me for two reasons.
1) The whole process of working out and planning a diet was always too much for me to take on all at once- I would fail each time. But this way I could totally forget the food 'input' part of the losing weight equation because someone else had worked that out for me. Which meant I only had to think about working out, and I could get myself into an exercise rhythm and habit. I started short and sweet- 15 minute walks each day then slowly built it up to a hour a day.
2) I was able to teach myself about portion size and healthy nutritious foods using that preprepared meal plan. Then once I had my workouts sorted I adapted the meals I had been eating to make my own menu.
The company I used is Australian- but they have a free DIY menu which you can download as a guide (where is says their dinner you could replace it with a store bought low calorie frozen dinner at first). Here's the DIY menu link:

I am now... gosh 3 1/2 years from when I first started, and have reached and maintained my goal weight for a year now. Anyway, read my profile for some more ideas, and PM me if you want to chat.
