1 month completed
Well, I'm not a supermodel... YET. heehee
Ok, I'm realistic and no that will not happen but anyway I've completed one month of really trying to stick with it and it seems to be working so far.
I started Thursday, Aug. 23rd at 323.2 and I am down to 312 (11.2 pound loss) and expecting TOM any day now. I've also lost 13.25 inches based on 4 measurements (bust, waist, abdomen and hips) but I think I've also lost in my arm and calf areas (and earlobes of course!).
The scale is just a number but it feels good to have it reflect that changes that I am trying to make everyday with exercise and maintaining a healthier diet. I try to have a treat once a week (something planned) and it seems to be helping my morale and determination-and it tastes so good and I appreciate it more. I think this is where I slipped up last time. I started slipping on the treats and it slowly became an everyday thing again.
My first 10 pounds Iost I decided to reward myself with a workout related item. I got an ABS ball (Gaiam). It's good for the core. I'll probably try it tomorrow.
Thanks for the support and hope everyone is doing ok staying the course.

Hey Beth....
That is awesome for the one month... you go girl... I like you ideas of the weekly treat... it prevents you rom feeling deprived.... One thing I do to help me at work... is if I know we are celebrating birthday and going out for lunch... I look at the menu in advance before leaving... so I can have time undestracted to read and make good choice... usually, by the time you get to the restaurant you so hungry or you let someone else talk you into getting something else... that has helped me make some really good choices and be in control while eating out.... I am down 17 pounds... it has taken about 4 months for me... but at 15 pounds my hubby rewarded me with a new work out out fit....I guess he got tired of seeing me in my same raggity shorts and college sweat shirt...LOL
By the way... You are too a supermodel!!!
THANKS!! I thank heaven all the time for internet menus, LOL. I try to find them online whenever I am going it. It is so helpful to me. It's too distracting in a restaurant so I like to have an idea of what I want before I get there.
About the weight, it's a number and I really try not to focus on that. I try to look at the other results also like the fit of clothing, muscles and strength, inches and energy. It's so hard not to focus on that number but as long as we are losing, we are in the right direction now!
I also try to make weekly goals also do challenges. Right now I'm doing the fast food challenge. I haven't had fast food in a month now. I don't put a time limit on it, I just see how long I can go. I do it for positive things too like drinking at least 80 ounces of water/day or getting a salad in every day.
Congrats on the weight loss that is great. I see people losing 15 pounds in a month. I don't think I could do it but I'm not in competition with everyone else. Unless there's a prize nobody told me about! LOL
Thanks!
I just realized that it, technically, had only been 4 weeks (28 days) so I might actually have lost more. I'm really glad about the inches though b/c I think I've been doing a lot of muscle exchange which means I'll burn more calories in the long run. I'm trying not to get to obsessed with the number on the scale but it is sooo hard not to.
Thanks again! and keep up the great work too.
