you GOTTA GO

What a WONDERFUL weekend.  I went to the Obesity Help conference that was hosted here in San Antonio.  I have never been to anything like this before. Even though I'm 8 months out..I learned more interesting and new things!  I met some wonderful doctors in the area and an awesome plastic surgeon.  We had Q & A sessions that were just "out of this world"!  I got so many "free" goodies and protein foods to sample. The best thing....I got to meet my "movie stars"  ...Obesity Help spokesperson was Jackie Guerra...she was in the movie Selena and has done the talk show circuit.  Once a 300lb "cuitie" herself, she talks of her journey and plastic surgery.  Yvonne McCarthy, also a WL patient and does the photography for Obeisty Help was there to share her story.  Then there was our own..Texas boy, Ramon Lopez - the "incredible shrinking dawg".  He spoke of his 300lb loss from WLS and shared his very personal story. (see photos in my profile) Inbetween events were clothing and recipe exchanges and  a men's forum.  All WLS was covered from lapband, to RNY to the DS. Then in the evening was a big "TEXAS PRIDE" dance...where everyone had a BLAST!!!!  Oh I didn't mention all the prizes and giveaways!!! If you ever....ever get a chance to go to an event like this...you MUST go.  It will change your life!! I almost forgot...Miss Monica...she posts on the board alot...has been fighting her insurance company for the past 4 years, has been given the chance to join the "loser's bench" by NIX weightloss clinic here in San Antonio...CONGRATS  MONICA!!!!!  I met some awesome people....made new friends...shared email addresses...My words can't express what an impression this conference made on me!!!
