Today I had a bagel after church services, telling myself it was "a nutritious food".  Well, in spite of the fact that it was a whole grain bagel, it caused cravings in me.  I felt like I had betrayed myself and God. Breakfast 2 pieces 12-grain french toast with margarine and light syrup 3/4 cup apple juice 1 cup 1% milk 1 mug hazelnut coffee 2 cups water Mid-morning snack 1 whole grain bagel with 1/2 having cream cheese, and 1/2 having margarine 1 mug coffee Lunch Big Buford with cheese Small bag of seasoned french fries 2 cups water Dinner 1 chicken thigh with white sauce 1 cup mashed potatoes with margarine 1 can vegetable soup 1/2 can light fruit ****tail 1-1/2 cups 1% milk Evening Snack 2 cinnamon graham crackers 2 cups water Denise Phares/Kitties4

I can't presume to know God's point of view on such things-- but why do you think you betrayed him over the bagel, and not the 745 calorie ( 48 grams of fat) Big Buford sandwich? Does God have a particular problem with carbohydrates but not fast food?

The Big Buford sandwich was a part of my lunch.  We needed to get cheap fast food, and Rally's is the cheapest.  Unfortunately, they don't offer healthy sandwiches, like Wendy's, McDonald's, etc.  The bagel was not a part of my lunch, but eaten in between.  And it caused cravings. you might consider carrying 'emergency rations' when you are out.  This will help you aviod fast food dilemmas.   I pack my food for the day every day in my little cooler.  Yesterday the realtor I was working with offered to buy lunch, and becase salad was available I went ahead and made that choice.   However, if they had been bringing in burgers I would have just eaten what i had. Even a can of baked beans can be a better choice than a burger... and a can of beans, a plastic spoon and a can opener fit nicely in the glove box (did I mention it is cheap too?) use your imagination and plan for the worst!   Maybe next time will go better.
What I've eaten is here for the world to see
336.1 (8-1-07)/319.0 (12-28-07)/200 (goal for 12-31-08)/160 (goal)
Next mini goal is 290 by 1-31-08

You know a Big Buford with cheese and those seasoned fries sound MIGHTY good right now even if it is 10 in the morning currently lol. It was the weekend Denise atleast you know what you ate was a mistake, you've been doing so wonderful. God forgives :) you'll bounce right back on track :) Keep going!

Denise, Don't be so hard on yourself.  You acknowledged the slip, now move forward.  We all the potential to slip, it's how we deal with it afterwards that is important.  Today is a new day and a new chance to make healthier choices for yourself. Melinda
