Hello my people!!!
Thanks Neecee...that means alot coming from you! PCP is excited too! She said a 5-10% loss would greatly improve insulin resistance. My mother is back in the hospital, I got her to ask her doc about the LapBand...he told her he wouldn't even dicuss it with her. Slightly pissed me off. Had he said something like I think you may be too high risk or something like that I would have accepted that. So, I guess he would rather just keep treating the complications of diabettes than try to help he find a solution! This is the 5th time this year she has been in the hospital. They can't seem to get her medication right. If she takes the Lasik (sp?) she gets dehydrated, if they take her off of it she builds her fluids around her heart and lungs, and her feet and legs swell so bad the skin starts to bust. Those type of wounds can be deadly to a diabetic. Anyway, this time they did find out that she has two bleeding ulcers that's why she keeps losing blood and having to get more pumped into her. I told her Thursday night that if they didn't find out what was causing all of this this time we were carrying her stubborn German ass to another doctor even if we had to take her kicking and screaming. Something about her generation is that they put complete faith in a doctor. We have learned to question some things and get second opinions, but to her if they say there is nothing we can do....they accept that as gospel truth!
