I have Not one, but 2 birthday parties to attend, and I LOVE cake!   Help! I'm gonna try to cut back today to make up for what I MIGHT eat later. What is going on in your life this weekend? Bren

Nothing special going on for me this weekend so hopefully I will do O.K.  Remember the key is portion control and you'll do just fine.  Have fun and think of me when your eating that cake...LOL.

Bren - when I had a birthday party to go to in August I planned my whole day ahead in thedailyplate.  I put in the cake and pizza first... and THEN I arranged the remainder of my meals around that so that I would be within my calorie goals for the day.  It also really helped going in that I could have 2 pieces of pizza and a normal piece of cake. When mother decided to exercise portion control (she does not yet realize that I have made changes on my own, and I am not going to tell her!)  on my behalf I handed my plate back and asked for the "other half" of my piece of cake!  I knew that I had budgeted for it and I intended to enjoy every morsel!
What I've eaten is here for the world to see
336.1 (8-1-07)/319.0 (12-28-07)/200 (goal for 12-31-08)/160 (goal)
Next mini goal is 290 by 1-31-08

With sweets (which btw, are not my thing really, so easy for me to say) I have learned that the first 3 bites taste as good as the last 8, 9, and 10th bites! I'd rather plan for a small piece, or if someone hands me a big regular size piece, i only eat part of it.  As i say, booze is my thing..i can easily forego most sweets most of the time.  I will swoon over a fruit cobbler,  or a coffee cake like thing - HAS to be home made. Store bought crap, hardly ever as good as they look!  I am VERY judicious & snotty on this...almost never even try a piece of store bought anything. Elizabeth had the best plan yet..work these extra foods into your week/day, and that is the key.  My weekend??? nope, nuttin big happening. The grandsons are coming over tonight cuz their parents are going out, will stay the night.  I miss them, and am looking forward to their little bodies running all over Creation! I am getting a sore throat and kind of head-achey. As I keep whining, work has sucked me dry this past few weeks, and i need to lay low.

I don't have anything to make me fret this weekend but I did go to a picnic last Monday (Monday is my WI day and the start of my new week with WW) and I ate a small piece of spice cake... which really was okay- I kept inside my points BUT, it seems ever since that day- I  have been struggling a little bit with NOT EATING overboard :(  Not sure what is going on there, but I did start my monthly 'thing" and that may have made it harder?  I've also had a REAL difficult time getting my WATER in! That seems odd as I am someone that packs a bottle of water- or a huge cup of ice water ALWAYS- even pre-WW. I did find that the natural Cheeto's puffs are only 3 points for 32 pieces so that is a GREAT munchy for me... that is where I have the difficulties- MUNCHIES! And occasionally sweets. Hope everyone is doing great this weekend- I'm not doing a lot but working feverishly on a memorial video/music DVD for someone & it is really time/emo consuming- but will be very rewarding in the end.  I'm SUCKING down my water as I work!   I snuck on the scale this a.m. as it felt like I had lost but was still at my 8 lb loss... hopefully I'll pee a bunch of water off between now and Monday a.m.  :) :)
