Putting oneself first - because I'm worth it
bert, if you eat right and exercise, you too will grow into a beautiful woman! You lil smarty bucket. Yes, thank you for this speech for our sisters, especially those with kiddos at home. It is hard to see the pouty lips on too many DH's faces when we announce it is time to go exercise or time to buy good running shoes. I, however, am SO spoiled. My kids are long gone...I pretty much buy what I want to for myself. I am onto the biggggg expenses at this stage of my life...the decorator landscape jobs, the Ikea Furniture, rare jewelry, etc...was a day not so long ago that I had one pair of thongs in my closet (not that kind, shari ya perv), and one disintegrating pair of tennis shoes from K-mart. But still, my Dh is a major team player and he can get the long face when i go out to walk after work with buddies...he MUCH prefers me right beside him, all the time, and I have to detach with him once in a while. He's a homebody from HELL, and I am a social butterfly.
Good post! Ladies..take what you need so that you can give to others.
