South Beach

I know a couple of you are on the South Beach diet. A girl I went to school with lost a good amount of weight on it. I was thinking about it and I have not tried this particular diet yet. So before I buy the book can maybe someone break down the phases and tell me what the eating plans are and you know give me some info? Thanks!

PHASE 1 IS FOR 2 WEEKS.. NO CARBS NO FRUIT
PHASE 2 IS THE WEIGHT LOSS PHASE THAT YOU STAY ON UNTIL YOU ARE DOWN TO YOUR GOAL WEIGHT - SAME AS PHASE 1, ONLY YOU INTRODUCE WHOLE GRAINS, AND LOW GLYCEMIC FRUITS - BUT NOT ALL YOU CAN EAT - SERVINGS OF FRUIT AND WHOLE GRAIN CARBS ARE CONTROLLED
PHASE THREE - THE MAINTAINING PHASE -FOLLOWING PHASE 2, AND INCORPORATING MORE FOODS THAT WEREN'T ALLOWED ON PHASE 2, BUT ION MODERATION

Christa, SB is how I lost all my weight. You can google lists of Phase 1, 2 and 3 foods as well as recipes. I didn't use the recipes so much but some are okay.
You can also get the book for like $5.00 from Amazon.com.
I did Phase 1 for about 3 months. I kept it very simple because it was easier for me to stay on it that way. I ventured into Phase 2 but pretty much didn't add a whole lot of the carbs back in like they suggest you do. My food choices still remain fairly simple. As with any program it is about portion control, but the SB diet focuses on controlling the Glycemic Index as well. Good luck and if you have any questions just throw them out there.
