Accountability for August 24th
well it wasnt a very good day for me on the eating side.... at the open house (which was wonderful) I ate a cookie....yum. I dont even feel guilty about that., but the sugar really set off my eating for the day. In the end I was 500 above where I want to be on my calories....

Violamom, I notice that your day is pretty void of anything vegetable. Is that by design? Also what program do you use to track? I use self.com which tracks the carbs, fats and protein. But it doesn't track fiber. My carb number is high until I look at what made it up, and that's the oatmeal (good carb) and the sweet potato which is stock full of vitamins and good stuff.
I hate most veggies... I dont like fruit much. I try to make myself eat some green beans now and then... and I do eat my pintos daily.... and hummus must count a little??? I do like plain baked sweet potatoes and should eat more of them.
It is a goal to work more veggies in.... maybe some tomato juice or v-8... It is a real area of struggle for me. and I know I am getting (at most) 2 servings a day when I should be getting 5....
salads are lovely... when they swim in blue cheese or caeser dressing....
I use www.thedailyplate.com and I love it. I used to use fitday but I wouldnt go back...

My mother taught me to "color-coordinate" my plate. LOL If there aren't veggies I feel like a bad person. Mostly I eat broccoli and squash and um...broccoli. LOL I love all veggies, just don't know how to prepare them.
Yup on the salad swimming in something. To me it's not worth eating salad with just vinegar on it, makes me choke.
Nothing wrong with high protein, you have a lot of variety in it. I was just wondering.
I tried daily plate and I was horribly confused. Doesn't take much these days!
I bake mine in the microwave then peel and slice into thick slices (about 5 or 6 per tater) ... then transfer into a pan with butter flavor pam... just until they are browned...
a few grains of coarse salt on top and YUMMY... I actually do like them quite a lot.
