ooh.... my legs are feelin' mighty heavy, kids... and the back is screamin'!  I know this is par to course but if I didn't jot down why it is that I avoid moving, then I couldn't face it head on. I got off 4.86 miles on the bike yesterday while playing that WII tennis and bowling again with 2 lb wrist weights on.  I'm logging every little morsel on fit day and even if I just dipped something in  mayo (I sometimes do that with turkey) I log it as a teaspoon.  The highest calorie count I hit was like just over 1200.  <-- I don't think that's terribly high for a 300lb woman who is making an all out attempt at exercising.. do you?  To be quite honest, I'm not hungry and I feel like I'm continually eating something.  I surely have to get to the store today somehow cause I'm out of mixed veggies and I have to pick up another turkey breast.  SEE .. I'M GROWING FEATHERS!  I'm afraid of the fluid gain, but I took a whole vicodin anyway about 10 minutes ago.  I'm waiting for it to kick in so I can get on that bike and get it done.  It felt incredibly good to hit 45 minutes at about 65 rpm and up on a higher level.   I weighed first thing this morning at 298.6.  Not a great loss, and I've certainly worked my butt off for it... but it's going in the right direction DOWN. The exercise mat I ordered is here...  so I'm gonna get on the floor and stretch and hopefully I'll be able to get myself back up!  OH.. I spoke too soon, My cats seem to like it..  I'll be fighting for mat time with psycho kitty and his wife. I'm not discouraged..  I'm not discouraged.. I'm not discouraged.... I'm just hurtin' but still trying to see that light at the end of the tunnel...  298.6 is better than 302...let's hope it's finally kicking in. Thank you for enduring the rant.. Lori

You are doing great! You CAN DO IT!  (wonder how many calories you can burn fighting w/the cats?:) Keep up the great work!!!

girl you are working REALLY hard... and 1200 cals isnt that much. I suggest you go to www.thedailyplate.com... if you go to the "my calorie goals" page it will ask you how much you are doing and how much you want to lose etc. and will calculate a custom calorie goal for you. Mine is at 1,913... to lose 3 lbs a week (I am pretty inactive) and I try to stay at about 1500 - because I am comfortable there. the daily plate also helps you calculate how many calories differnt activities burn

Thank you... I've been using fitday for the last few days, but  REALLY want to know how many calories it would take to lose 3 lbs a week.  I am frustrated.. just.. simply frustrated.  I don't know how to convince my body to just LET GO.    I cleaned for about 2.5 hours... sweated my butt off, and still didn't get on the bike yet today,   I know I have to but I keep thinking "why am I causing myself so much physical pain just to get no results". Then I say "ok....  it's making me FEEL better".. and .. it is .. I definitely have more energy, but I hit days like this where everything from Fibromyalgia to the peripheral neuropathy gets me all at once and I don't wanna move.  Well... at least I did some serious cleaning....    The day isn't over yet.....

Hang in there Girl... you are doiing just fine.... some loss is better than none at all....   Put psycho kiity and company in another room...LOL

yea... psycho kiffy as retreated to my freshly laundered table cloth..  here we go again.. I went to daily plate and according to that.. my activity level which is always breaking a good sweat when cleaning the house, and the bike and stretching (which I didn't even count.. only the sweaty housecleaning) it says I could take in 2200 cal a day and still lose 3 lbs a week.  Um.. NO WAY....  at 1200 - 1500 cal I gain..   I keep thinking it's the insulin.. or just flat out the metabolic disorder of diabetes but GIMME a break... doctors say "you GOTTA lose weight".. but HOW!  :(  I'm sorry...  I'm just frustrated.. I just wanna cry.

For me staying under what the daily plate suggests has done me well.  They would like to see me eat 1900 to lose 3 a week... I try to stay between 1400 and 1500.  My goal is to always eat as much as possible and still see great losses...

I dont really know how the insulin thing works, or what adjustments you might need to make.  Does less carbs help with that???  maybe it isnt how many calories but what kind??? I have no idea.... but I know if you track regularly some of the nutrionists around here are happy to take a look for you.

I put in some sample things to check it out.... and on a pig out day before I started this.. I could do 1500 - 1700 calories.  Since I gained at a steady rate for 10 years, it's obvious this just doesn't work and I honestly don't think everyone's metabolism works the same way... so .. I have to view this as a guideline. As far as what kinds of calories... the lower the carbs the better for me.  NOT because of Atkins either.. it's because many carbs spike my blood sugar... so I try to get my carbs from veggies and now, an ocassional fruit.  I've seen nutrtionists at the diabetes doctor... yanno.. one thing I'm not.. is a liar... and I really didn't appreciate the attitude I got.  We're all different.. yanno? I was just very frustrated today... very.. I don't want to take the pain medication because I fear it is interfering in my weight loss attempts... but then again.. I wanna keep MOVING!  I'm just so convinced that if I can get this weight off.. or a good portion of it, that the pain will lessen greatly... and I am SO looking forward to that! PS..  I did force my butt on the bike and got off 5.25 miles in 45 minutes.  I don't know what that does for my body.... but it does my mind good to know that I made an all out try.   It looks like I've finished the day with 1002 calories and some decent burn.  I've gotta pick up some ketodiastix to see if I'm in Ketosis at all..... and I'm gonna keep on chugging.   Thanks...

What I have been told by my Diabetic Counselor=Nutiionist is to eat protein first and very low carbs. If I drink alcohol I have to eat with it or my Blood Surgar will still spike after losing 80lbs.Being a Diabetic does play havoc on our systems but trust me execise like walking helps and does lower your Blood Sugar. Keep the exercise up and you will see inches and pounds losing. Also all sugars in food 6 grams or less and I know that is not easy. ......Sharon
