Major issues....

I was taught that a calorie is a calorie, no matter what! You can eat MORE of low cal foods, that's why it's good to eat veggies and fruit, etc. Sometimes you need to "change it up" a little.  Do a different diet technique to get things going again.  And remember that it sometimes takes a while for the weight to come off.  We want it immediately, but we didn't put it on all in one day.

*sigh*  I lost it today.  I ate eggwhites and rolled up slices of turkey... um.... 1/2 cup home made chicken-barley soup (at least I know what I put in it).. THEN on top of it.. I stuck a fork in a piece of center cut boneless pork chop I did up in the crockpot for dinner.   I feel like I've been mowwing down all day and I feel ful and uncomfortable.   I got back on the bike!  My hip is out, but I got back on!  I'm not going for the second round of it tonight though... one 30 minute session at level 3 for almost 3 miles.  If I get back on tonight, I might not be able to walk tomorrow so.. I can't be foolish about it. I had my daughter run out and get me one of those scales that does the bmi, water weight and actual weight.   I do have a good kitchen scale for food, but mostly I eat things I don't have to worry about.  ! whole egg w/2 egg whites, 2 slices of turkey w/mustard, or a piece of turkey made in the crockpot.  I bought a month's worth of nutrisystem but some of the stuff is putrid.  LITERALLY!  EGADS! I'm so down...  I just don't want to live as a prisoner in this body.. and I can't seem to get ahead.

are you tracking your intake?  putting it in fitday or the daily plate or one of the others??? It seems to me that eggwhites, turkey slices, a half cup of soup and some pork is not adequate food.  or adequate variety for that matter.... how many calories are you getting a day?  how much fat?  any veggies???

After I read the responses, I went to fitday for the first time.  I did eat quite a bit!  I really had to think about everything I put in my face today, and it was good to see what i did to myself today.  I did eat a couple of spoonfulls of mixed veggies that I made for dinner..  was already stuffed by then though.    Heck.. it's been 2.5 hours and I'm still stuffed.. yuk.  But I'm here to tell ya that my sugar is only 119..   I gotta feel blessed over that. It seems to think I burned more than I did on the bike though. maybe I'm drinking too much coffee. When all was said and done..   apparently I ate 1227 calories today! WOW.... not only that but so much of it came from FAT! % of total fat   44%!! Saturated 15% poly  6% mono   18% Carbs:  15% Fiber  0 Protein  41% Alcohol  0 I WAY overdid it today.  :(  That fitday is a great tool.. Nutriystem is ok, but they substituted way too much stuff for things I'll NEVER eat.   For example:   TUNA CASSEROLE!  I like tuna.. but on a hunk of italian bread with olive oil, vinegar and tomato...so I don't eat it at all.  UT.. w/lite mayo of course! The muffins are impossible to get down... if I don't soak them in coffee, they get stuck (even when I do soak them in coffee).  So, I used all the powdered eggs already.. and there sit the muffins. Gotta get back to eggbeaters if I'm gonna do this myself rather than the eggs & eggwhites.. WAY too high in calories! Thanks...  keeping track is gonna be an excellent tool, and coming here will help me to move to a deeper level of commitment.

keeping track is critical for me.  I carry a little spiral notebook with me wherever I go.  It is always open in the kitchen.  I write down every thing.  If I am eating out it is on the table.... when I go to put it in the PC I often dont remember eating something... but it is there in my book so I must have!  If I didnt write it down it would be lost.

No, don't give up.  my body will hang on very stubbornly at certain points. Be MORE stubborn!  My only addition would be to measure your food for a week. Get out an actual cup measure and see what all types of food look like in YOUR plates & bowls. OR...eat pre=portioned foods for a time so you can experience what it is like to eat a small portion size. Most of all, be more stubborn than you rbody.
