Abstinence - Days 179 & 180 (Six months of abstinence!)

Actually, if I think I understand correctly from what Neecee said about OA,  if Denise writes that she ate 5 cookies, and  3 pieces of pizza, that is EXACTLY what she had planned to eat that day and it wasn't a screw up.  Neecee said that an OAer's general goal is to plan and write down exactly what they are going to eat that day--whether good or bad--and stick to eat without going off course and binging.  It may sound like a lot of food or not as balanced a food menu, but if she sticks to her daily food plan she is beginning to overcome her eating/binging addiction.  Personally, I don't really buy this idea, but it seems to be working for her, and that's all that counts.  She has invested a lot of time and energy into this and from what she says it seems to be helping her.  I had orginally asked because I wasn't sure about the whole purpose of OA and was wondering where and when nutrition value and info. came into the program--which was never really answered.  Iit seems to me though, that Denise really doesn't want any comments.

Denise, Thank you for your response.  Our questions weren't to be hurtful or demeaning.  My questions were brought about out of confusion for exactly what OA is and does for a person, as well as how your daily eating coinsides with what OA is teaching you.   I am sorry if  you were hurt by my or any questions, but that's all they were.  They weren't meant as bullets.  I was looking for an honest response and conversation to learn and inform myself about your different outlook and OA.  Neecee actually cleared most of my questions up.  I just wish you would have seen this as an opportunity to educate than to feel threatened. As mentioned in my posts, congratulations on your weight loss and for being six months "abstinent".   Katy

Geez, I check this board most everyday, I musta missed something?  After reading all the posts here, I don't understand what  went on, but I will say it sounds like some misunderstandings?  I'm sure sorry if you were hurt in anyway.  I don't know why anyone would be snarky, no reason to do that on a support board, but I've seen ALOT of it on the main board.  I always enjoy reading your menus, makes me hungry! lol...Actually it gives me good ideas.  You have always answered my inquires about OA, so I don't know what the deal was lately...take care.......
