I have been taking Alli going on week 6 now. It does work, but you have to follow the instructions. Also, you should really register online and use their support tools - It makes you check in once a week, and keeps you honest. There are also message boards that you can go on, to talk to other people taking Alli. In addition to that, it creates menu's and recipies, and shopping lists. The first two weeks I took Alli, I didn't track calories or fat, and I had side effects - I lost 6 pounds. By the third week, I wasn't loosing any more weight, and I thought I should try to abide by the caloric and fat intake you are supposed to.  By the end of week 4, I lost more weight, and I stuck to counting calories and fat, and continued to loose, until last week, when I gained1.2 pounds.,because I had not been exercising. I am going into week #6, and I am in total down 12 pounds. They key with Alli, is to count and follow caloric and fat intake, and you have to exercise, even if it's just going for a long walk.... I post an update on here every Friday, and if you have any questions, or need anything else just let me know. Good luck !!

Hi all! I'm so glad to see this thread as I have thought of purchasing this stuff myself- the only pharmacy in my area had an ad in the local paper this week announcing it's "arrival". I went online to research and found both good and bad reviews. It really sounds nasty if you don't stick to the plan! My big question would be does it cause painful gas? Cause a lot of what I have read is that it causes a great deal of PAIN if your fat intake is even a little above where it should be. I tend to bloat & get stomach cramps really bad from milk and a lot of other things- I wonder if this will happen- if you DO stay on track. Ick- I'd just hate to have that every day.  I don't think I'd have the REAL nasty side affects as I'd be sticking to their diet but I am afraid to spend a chunk and then have the bloated/gas feeling even if I am doing things right.  Also does anyone know... can alli be taken if you are on antidepressants???  I take three (generic) welbutrin per day and I haven't seen any place that talks about other drug interactions with alli. I'm also on 5mg of Avapro per day (BP meds)   And also, one thing I read is that there is an ingredient in it that has been linked to ovarian cancer?  You never know what is real info & just people flaming the product but it made me unsure as I have a lot of cancer in my family history. At any rate- it sure sounds great for a lot f folks!   Thanks or anything you may have to share and CONGRATS on your weight loss so far! I am still in the researching stage- trying to figure out which plan to go forward with. Take care!

Hello!  I'd have to say no I have never had any pain from it, not at all. I feel as normal as I ever do when I take it.  And I have actually ate more fat than required while on it before, it's not the worst thing in the world...all that really happened was within 15 minutes of eating I had to use the restroom and you could see oil floating, yea it's gross, but it wasn't like OMG I am gonna go in my pants or anything. lol. Now with taking other medications, I don't really know anything about that. Hope you get your answers for that. And good luck with your weight loss!

"you could see oil floating, yea it's gross, but it wasn't like OMG I am gonna go in my pants or anything" LOL  with one of my dd's my Dr gave me quinine (sp?) and had me drink TWO OUNCES of caster oil! It was SO NASTY!    And the sick thing is--- I DID it!!!  I thought- "he's the Doctor"!  All he wanted was for me to have the kid before he left on vacation! Imagine! So yes, that DOES sound gross but I guess I have experienced it already in a sense :)  At least it  will taste better going DOWN in food form than the caster oil did :) LOL Thanks for your reply!

I just wanted to clarify for everyone that I have started taking Alli.  I actually had to start my re-fill bottle today!  I love the stuff.  I have only had what they call Treatment Effects 3 times since starting. I am kinda glad I did because it shows me that it really does work and its not just a gimic! I will post my total weightloss as soon as I weigh.  I only get on the scale once a week!
