Food Porn Network

LOL...that is sooo garshdern funny!!!!  To continue that discussion, I think the hosts are all small because they work out the whole rest of the time and eat nada when off the air. Just like the people in the Carl's Jr commercials! One thing I will say  is that the whole home cooking thing is exactly what my dh and I are into.  I'd rather eat one good meal a day of the food porn stuff in reasonable portions and scrimp on the other meals to keep my weight down. It is working for me, slowly, but surely. It's as though I can "make it" when I know a non-diet food meal is waiting for me at the end of my day. Oh i WISH i could eat a gourmet anything for all of them, but we all know where that will end up. And Donna, I too get more hungry when i eat even the biggest bacocrack burger...it is the weirdest thing. I would be embarrassed to see how much i could eat of those things.

Hey Neecee, My son loves the Food Porn Network.  We watch it every night.  My favorite is Diners, Drive Ins and Dives.  I absolutely LOVE Paula Dean but I HATE Rachel Ray.  Paula Dean is funny as hell.  I love the look of ecstasy on their faces when they eat their foods.  And Paula loves her butter!!!  Neecee, I can't see Paula working out all that much, LOL. I have really tried to vary my meals, I'm VERY bad at it.  My SO says that he is going to start clucking soon if he eats any more of it.   Hey, how about a recipe sharing post?!?!??!!   I'd love it, maybe we can ask OH if we can sticky it so it stays at the top, and we can share recipes? Anyone willing to try?

well and of all of them, ole Paula is not thin! But she is not as fat as she shoudl be, LOL.  her recipes are ones I use only for special occasions...my GAWD, she do like her butter. her recipes i make, eat one piece and run it out of this house on the next train. Send it to work with DH. I actually like rachel's recipes, but yeah, 30 minutes of her is enuf.  I think I did post her captain Chicken...that is a repeat that we make here.  Also her stewp made of chorizo, potaotes, chikcne...we replaced chorizo with veggie chorizo and it is great!  Alton Brown is my boyfriend!!!!   I love the food science angle he talks about and his collection of rolling pins.  what a man!!!!

My dh and I both cook, or trust me, not much of this would happen. My dh is truly a 600 pound man in a 225 pound body.  Every day, every meal for him is a food adventure.  he was very thin most of his life and he stills acts like he is that thin.  But there IS a GOD, Daddy's wearing size 40 pants lately.   Mwahhah hah hah.....

I loved when Oprah asked Paula how many calories, and how much fat is in that......she replied "Oprah, I'm your cook, not your doctor".  LMAO!

My DB and I love watching the Food Network.  Emeril and Paula are our favorites.  I made a Garlic soup of Emeril's one time for DB and he went nuts for it.  Now Paula definitely loves her butter and has wonderful recipes.  I've made quite a few of hers and actually plan on making her Peach Cobbler recipe this weekend as my sister and brother and his family are coming over.  I calculated out the calorie count and if I make it a 6 serving pan then it's 360 calories pp.

I LOVE the food network post-op. The preparation of good food is a beautiful thing, and I live vicariously through the shows I watch. Doesn't bother me at all. I have a million recipes these days as I make most of my meals, but all of them end with "Throw it in the blender and puree it until it's liquid" so they'd have limited appeal.

Thinking of a typical 3 course meal thrown in a blender!  Man that's gotta suck.. Now a casserole style dish.. no problem!

I'm down for a recipe thread. Especially since I live alone and cooking for one is a *****! I need something like a quiche or casserole that's filling, 300-350-ish calories per serving so I can slap some salad or broccoli with it and call it a meal, and will keep in the fridge for a couple of days. As for Food Network...I love Ina!
