Found this "boot camp".
I agree that, overall, it can't hurt to try. It depends how much the whole package is. My initial impression from the site is that she does care about fitness, and is not a quack of any sort.
My only other concern is that, in explaining why exercise should be fun, some of the stuff she outlines sounds TOO SILLY FOR ME in a group setting? Hopping around like a frog? It may be great for you, but no thanks!
If you decide against it, the martial arts option sounds really good. Especially because you said you love it!
Yeah, the hopping around like a frog bit kind of turned me off but I'm curious how much of that she really does. I want to talk to her and get a better understand of what it is she's doing but I'm thinking that's now how she does things. If it doesn't pan out then I'll definitely check into the martial arts thing a little more. Just don't want to start something and quit it again.
Hey, Chris,
IF it doesn't work out for you, you could always get a DVD on "the arts".
Just do what you ENJOY doing.
I'm doing the pool thing. Just thrashing around in the cool water is so serene for me. It doesn't even feel like exercise. No sweating, etc.
I always wanted to learn Tai Chi, but they kick so high, etc. I'd probably fall on my big butt!
But we all have our utters, so do what you'll stick to.
Good luck in your decision. But please do not fall for an expensive "thing" that you may not like.
Ask her if you can be on a trial basis.
Keep us posted!
