That's awesome!!  Its nice that you have it as an option!  Definetly go to the seminar, and research it as much as you can before you make your decision!

Oh Diva! You will always have the support you need here, and NO ONE is going to be mad..... Kisses  I don't know about anyone else, but I originally came to OH looking for WLS info, if others have done the same, who is to judge?  Do what YOU need to do for YOURSELF.  This "journey" takes many twists and turns, it doesn't mean WLS isn't an option.  Iam totally blown away when I see people on a WLS board, come on, ask questions, get approved all in a super short ammount of time, then they have surgery!  Brave or foolish?  You have been doing this long enough to know what you are doing.  Keep us updated on what goes on!

Regardless of what decision you eventually make, be sure to take care of your body now. No matter where you go from here, moderate losses and better physical fitness will benefit you. You talk about wanting to look better-- but didn't mention your health. Everyone knows this is my favorite bugaboo-- so only listen if you feel like it-- but your self opinion does not always change with WLS, and your looks do not always improve. The fact is, women who are self-critical before tend to be just as self-critical after. In my case, I have huge amounts of redundant tissue all over my body that will cost tremendous cash and pain to remove. I was once a very large, very round and full woman-- post surgery I am becoming a deflated and wrinkly woman: it's not "better", just different. Surgery does not address insecurity--sadly, I have seen a lot of women who thought so, did the work, and found they still just weren't "good enough." Boy, is that ever sad! A slower loss may minimize this, and your results may be very different because you are much smaller-- but as the resident self-actualized supersized post RNYer in town,  I had to throw that out there. Get the help you need to be the best you can now, and to appreciate and maximize your looks as they are. It makes the journey a lot easier, wherever you go. Make the decision that's best for your long term health and happiness.  Best of luck to you!

Shari....  Now girl you know I value your opinion... and admire you zest and attitude....  I know WLS is not a cure all.... but I truly feel like I am tried out....  I printed out my gym attendance for the past 90 days.... and out of 90 days... I have been 66 days... that includes some Saturdays....  I have totally revamped my eating.... and I am tired .... I even force myself to go even when I do not feel like it... I've had my thyroid tested last year and nothing was wrong with it.... I have eliminated soda, converted from bleached flour to whole wheat and grain everything..... protein drink this, protein bar that....   I figure I have already mental and physically made the transition with my eating and working out so maybe this would be the next step for me... I know insecurities is a whole nother issue, but this struggle has increased my insecurities...  I have never had any health issues... or any of the co-morbidities.... but they do run in my family... and I do not want to be like that....   My hubby says he is willing to set up a savings account for me to have plastics.... that will take time... so I figure why not try to get my body where I can be happy with the complete package...  I am just tired of what I feel like is spinning my wheels..... I think it is nothing but the grace of God and this board... that keeps me going to the gym even when the scales moves not one ounce.

That makes sense. Only YOU know how hard you have struggled, and how much that means to you. I really had no idea of your history and wanted to be sure you're thinkin' hard! Some people are truly weight loss resistant. In the time I lost 70 pounds, my Sig Ot lost 45, and as a man, we expected faster loss. I forget that, sometimes-- because it was so much easier for me, it probably makes me less sensitive than I should be.

I hope that whatever you decide to do, you end up with a body you can love. I've found it's easier when you love it first--because then you WANT to take care of it-- but also understand that some people never get to that place, no matter what they do.  Please take care and ask a milliondy questions. Janina is our resident LapBandPrincessa-- maybe she could weigh in (so to speak) with her experiences?

Tell.. the truth.. I am not sure what else I can do besides join the "WL Farm" for 6 months.. that will not work because I got bills to pay....  We all are different.. and I respect everyones journey... I know what works for some or even the majority may not work for me..... and visa versa... that is the reason I am taking my time.... I will probably interview 3 - 5 surgeons.... try to speak to some patients... and do more research from there... You're right... I do have to love how I am now... hard to do some days... but I do need to do it...
