Butt seriously folks....

just call me "Grace".  Yesterday I fell on my steps, and slid all the way down on my butt.  I am thankful for 2 things: 1. they are carpeted 2. my well padded buns!! I've discovered its more challenging to eat when you can't sit down.  I can't eat lying in my bed, on my stomach, and I'm not a big fan of eating while standing!  The only chair on which I can perch for a limited amount of time happens to be in front of the computer! Hopefully I'll be more ambulatory soon - or I'll loose my mind!!!

I can sympathize, Jean! My butt bones are making sitting very painful. My abdomen's still a minor mess, and being on my sides hurts my incisions. About the only place I am comfortable is in the pool, these days! I have added chair pads to every piece of furniture I own! Hope you feel better soon!

If it weren't for swimming, I'd be one of those people on the news that they have to get outa the house with a crane!! I joined the gym a year ago, and so far, the only thing I've used is the pool, oh, and a pilates reformer class.  I had to pay extra for the eight weeks of pilates - but it was awesome.  I weigh 300 lbs -I was afraid i would collapse the equiptment!   The use of the machines keeps you from doing it "wrong", and its totally core work.  If I could afford it, I would continue.  My jopints are all effed up from my weight - so the pool is the best thing for me, plus I've ALWAYS been a water rat! My poor hiny!! (can you tell I have kids?!)  now all my muscles hurt from tensing up when I fell down the stairs.  I've been trying to move as much as possible to keep fronm getting a stiffened up. I've also been checking out various diets.  the glycemic index thing seems most prominsing, but my main concern is the cost of buying specific foods, and my kids are such picky eaters!!!!  Luckily, my hubby could stand to loose some weight., and he will happily eat almost anything I put in front of him.  He has 6 brothers - so he's well trained to eat whatever he can get his hands on! ok - gotta get up, the ol' butt is revolting.

hmmm can you walk? Get on out there.  LOL, that does suck, it really does! My back is like that when it goes out...I can walk all day long, but not sit or even lie down all that long. I just took a spill in Chicago, off the damn segway i was learning. Those damnable things should have a kill switch that when both feet are off it, it should completely die. I fell going UP the hill, could not get the angle right.  Fell right on my left buttock. My back did not go out until 5 days later...so i am not completely sure it happened with the fall - may have been sitting ont he plane, mega stress when i got back to town.  My back goes out like every 5 years, in times of stress or this certain movement it hates (bending at the waist).  In fact, i digress here to tell youguys that when backs go out, it is usually an accumulation of bad moves, and bending at the waist rather than bending knees slightly while doing so is one major transgressor. We tend to thin it is one certain fall or box that did it in, but again, it is an accumulation of bad moves.

I gotta walk, swim, move, diet!!!! I dunno if you read the post about my daughter's friend that lost her mom, but I've GOTTA make that motivate me!  I know its gotta be for me, but they are one of my reasons for living, so my quality of life depends on their well being. Thanks! Actually, I'm feeling much better right now.  I'll probably be all stiff in the morning, but i think once i'm up and around, I'll be ok! As I was falling - (it seemed like it took around 5 minutes!)  I said in my head "nooooooo - I can't be hurt!!!  there's no one to take care of meeeeeee" (Mommies are not allowed to be sick or injured!)

You know I've done that very same thing on more occasions that I'd like to admit!  One thing I've noticed about it is that your body is quite resilient!  You would think you would've broken something doing the butt bounce down the steps but somehow you only end up with a slightly sore tushy, some muscle strain, and embarrasment.  Kinda sounds like you may have had a little more pain than that but man it always seems like it could have been much worse!
