what are you grateful for today? What invention would YOU patent to defeat obesity, all holds barred in the realm of possibility as we know it? If a pill, what exactly would it do?

I am grateful for sanity.  Relative sanity?? LOL Wow, what a question Neecee.  I guess I would invent non-obesity!!!! Yay me. If I invented a pill it would be one that blocked the "I'm hungry" head cravings forever.  It would be one that you could take once a day and it would also regulate your body so that your weight fell directly in your normal BMI category. LOL You should all holds barred.

This morning I found out it was my TOM and I'm grateful for having a managable period (to which, it used to be insanely unmanagable; I was almost bed-ridden).

My patent for obesity... I love Donna's suggestion.  I would create a pill that gradually shrinks the size of your stomach, so that overeating would be very hard to do.

I'm grateful to have a job I really enjoy doing on a daily basis. I'm grateful that I have a loving wife who constantly craves my attention. I'm grateful for all the success and failure I've had in my life. Afterall, I wouldn't be where I am without the both of them. I'm grateful that I am able to lose weight even if it's not as fast as I'd like.  I'm grateful that I have ability to overeat. I imagine not having food to eat is much, much worse.  I'm grateful that I fixed my lawnmower yesterday and didn't have to buy a new one. ;)   Sometimes I get jealous of what others have. Sometimes I get angry and upset that I haven't done more with my life. But I am very grateful for everything I have and have done because things sure could be a hell of a lot worse. Mine would be a one time injection.  It would correct your metabolism, bacteria or whatever it is that causes you to gain weight so easily. There would be no side affects. This shot would also increase the elasticity of your skin so that as the weight comes off your skin tightens. I'd sell it to old people too! To speed up weight loss this shot would contain nano technology that will attack your fat cells and convert them to useable energy more rapidly that your body would. Basically this friggin thing would fix whatever ails you! lmao I'd also like to add that in my realm there is nothing that is impossible. Whatever I say happens, happens! heheh

I'm grateful for my 2 precious girls, and that for the moment my family is healthy.  I'm grateful that even though the warrantee has expired on my car, that the drive train and transmission are still covered!!!!!! My axle broke yesterday!!! I wasn't even in an accident, and I didn't run over a buffalo or anything!  Go figure! My invention would be the same as yours Chris!!!!  Seems like you covered all the bases!

I'm grateful that my employer allows me to work from home 2 days a week.  I wi**** was more, but even 2 days is heaven.  Can't think of anything better than wearing comfy loungy clothes, sitting at my PC working, and having one of my kitties on my desk purring next to me.  Now that's what I call a relaxing way to work. An invention...say special glasses or contacts a person wears that calculates the actual calories in food and makes it so you know the appropriate portion size.  We're a super sized society...no wonder there are so many obese people.  Many of us, including me, don't know the appropriate portion sizes and feel deprived when we do get the correct portion.  Ok, for me it's gotten a lot better and I can now see portions and not feel deprived, but the first two months weren't easy.

Today I am most grateful for having the summer off. I'm having trouble getting in the nutrients I need to feel well-- because I still exercise and am larger than most post-op RNYers still-- so my nutritionist and I are playing with my carbs a bit. But today I finally have some money and can go shopping-- so I needed a 2 hour nap to get the energy up-- and I am almost ready. If I had a class full of kids to contend with these days, I'd be up a tree. Invention? Um, I think people should have less taste buds or something. While I love food, my life'd be easier if it only got it through injections or something. If we only ate to run our bodies, we'd be better off.

Yanno, you aren't so much bigger than many other post-ops!!!!  You aren't 368 pounds anymore, remember?  You are kinda right in there with the average  obese type folks now.  Lightweights start off around 240-250 depending on their height, so think about that!!!!

Probably generally true--- but my surgeon and nut are used to people more in the 250 pound range, I think--they're conservative. The few people I actually know (like my buddy Jen) who see the same surgeon are about 30 pounds smaller. In any case, I know me, and me isn't feeling well. 6 ounces of protein will not run my body. I need carbohydrates, and adjusted up a tad today-- so I will see how it goes tomorrow. At 645 calories (and 150+ being exercised off daily), I don't think I'm gonna be huge anytime soon. I might not be 368 pounds, but I am also not much smaller-- and it's frustrating. Same clothes. My hips and breasts are making dressing a freaking nightmare-- I know a girl who is 420 and the same height who wears the same size I do at 288 pounds--- it's annoying. The aforementioned Jen is an inch taller, and wearing 18s now at 250. Me? Still in 30/32s at 288. Jen? Sleeveless halter dresses. Me? Ts and shorts. I am fluffier than most-- I think I might be made of Cool Whip. Man, did I ever digress. While I am digressing-- I just spent 42 minutes trying to use the bathroom. Life is...a challenge these days.  And to digress further-- I am about to go see what the hell kind of breastal origami I am gonna have to do to get my sweater puppies into a useful bra. Joy! ;) You gotta love a challenge.
