What is "fun" about losing weight?

I borrowed this from another site, but I really thought it might liven up our boards a bit..... "I had a thought today while I was looking for a new recipe to try. I thought, "Wow! If I were not trying to lose weight I would not be looking at a recipe like this." HOW FUN! I love to try new things. I think I actually try new foods way more when losing weight. I'm sure there are lots of other things I do that are "fun" that I don't realize yet. I might not know they are fun now. I might think it is something difficult now. (Like finding different foods to eat was). But someday maybe these new habits I am trying to create will become "fun" too."  **For me, it's fun to watch as my clothes get bigger and I'm able to fit into clothes that I had to put in the back of my closet because they got too tight to wear.  My kids will tell me, "wow mom, you haven't worn that shirt in awhile". Thats always fun to hear.

It's fun for me to go the gym with my son because we compete on the machines together.  We see who can do longer on the elliptical or the stair master.  I won on the stair master last night!!!!!  It's nice time to spend with him and be able to have the both of us get healthy at the same time.

Oh, i like this post. For me it's definitely buying new clothes and trying on my old ones which are just enormous on me.  I also love my health.  I had started the couch to 5k a couple months before my ps and right before my surgeries I was able to jog/run on my treadmill for 20 minutes straight at 5.2 mph--something I don't ever really remember being able to do even when I was a HS athlete.  The only down side was I would literally have to wear those girdle thingys when running because of loose tummy skin.  Otherwise my stomach would have been hittin me in the face, lol!! Cant' wait to do it now after my surgery and all the flab is gone!!! i'm sure there are many other things, but those are those ones that really stick out most in my mind!

Hmmm, well yesterday it was "Fun" to jump on the scales at my DD's neuro office, and I was down 5lbs....Hmmm, don't know if that is correct, I usually weigh at my PCP's office.  I wonder if most doc's scales are correct?

I love this too.  great idea, Heather!

I love:

new clothes thinking about what I will wear each day trying new flavor combos to ring my bell du jour my increased self esteem feeling GOOD about my day rather than shame filled other people noticing and complimenting me other people NOT noticing but I know they see the difference yes, no losing consciousness when I tie my shoes looking at pictures  being in pictures, not running
