Wednesday Weigh In
After the last week, my sympathy for TOM weight swings has definitely diminished. For about a month and a half I was off track, not exercising, eating terribly, and spending all my time in front of the computer. Last week I turned it around and as part of that began my weekly weigh ins again. The last week I weighed in before my binder I weighed in at 424. Last week I got on the scales and weighed 452. I thought at the time, wow, 28 pounds in a month in a half, that pretty much sucks. But I also sucked it up and determined to press on, water under the bridge, yada yada. A week down and I go to weigh in again this morning expecting my typical 7+ pounds a week when I'm on target. The scale this morning read 419. For those keeping score, thats 33 pounds. In a week. I generally trust the scale, because I use the scales at a local weight loss center and I know they are regularly calibrated. There's no way I lost 33 actual pounds in a week, so my water pumps had to have been working overtime.
It tells me a couple of things though First, I wasn't as off track as I thought, which makes me pretty happy because I can pretty much pick up where I left off. Second, I retain a *lot* of water when I am on my old diet. That makes sense because I've long noticed that my legs swell considerably when I am spending all day at work and all night at home in front of the computer.
Anyway, take your few pounds during TOM with a grain of salt, because it could be 33!
LOL...no sympathy, eh? This is true..in the grand scheme, how much is a few pounds.
I am glad you found the basic keys to the dramatic drop in weight even more than the loss itself!
It is addictive to sit in front of the 'puter doing anything, it is quite the Rabbit Hole...I look up and see an hour gone and get blown away.
Stay tough on it, Al!!!!

Bert,
I am so with you on tha****er thing. I posted on the update that I was 245 on Monday morning and I went "back on track" like crazy and drank a whole bunch of water, and this morning I'm down to 237.5. AND it's almost my TOM. I actually get teased for a while by it, it takes almost a week to get here. I know, TMI. LOL
That is so awesome that you are right back where you started, even better!!!! That for me would be a huge "god let me get away with it this time" situation and I'd be right back on track. I see that you are and that is great!!! Good for you!!!!
Hey Bert, you are only 20 pounds from the 3's!!! Whoooo hooooooooooooooooo.
