My gal pal D who was about 275 at her surgery at age 50 lost jack **** for the first few months. That was a real brain fart...which is why I always protest the *simple* calculation of about calories in calories out...what a load of crap on some bodies. I've seen it in practice with my WLS buds. A 35 year old man who had surgery the same day as she did lost 100# in 4 months, but then he stopped abruptly lsoing, in fact has gained one year out a tad bit. They ate the same crap, had the same surgeon...now why is that such a span of difference? but I am happy to report that D is still losing after one year of surgery....about 7# a month without really trying. She has just about made her 100#, and my prediction is that she will lose another 20 no sweat. I am so curious to see how you will be!

I didn't start where most RNY patients do-- so I guess I don't/can't expect their results. I had just lost 70 pounds, was extremely dehydrated, and received bags and bags of IV fluid in the hospital. All of those things will serve to make my experience a unique one, I am sure. I haven't had that initial huge fluid loss that most post-ops have, because I'd been dieting and was low on juices-- whatever I lose at this point is probably pretty much fat.
