Going to the doctor tomorrow
Hey you guys...
I am going to a new doctor tomorrow - a general medicine doctor that I believe also does OBG work. I am excited to share all of my hard work with this new doctor, and to get her feedback on the whole pre- pregnancy weight, and any advice on the weight loss thing...
My hubby and I are pretty well determined to start careless procreation in November of this year, so I hope that I will get positive feedback from the doc on my plan.
My current OBG has this annoying nurse who checks you in, and weighs about 100 pounds and lifts weights, she looks really butch - anyways, she always gives me this look when I get off the scale... I never say anything, cause I am not sure if it's me being oversensitive, or because I feel sorry for her, because her parnet's didn't pay her enough attention - I could care less.. nonetheless, I can only imagine when I am pregnant and I go in there with hormones raging that I may offer her a twinkie right before she weighs me.
I am hoping that I get a good vibe from this new Doc, otherwise, it's back to the drawing board.
I also hope that the scale at the doctors office is nice to me.... FIngers crossed ...
I will update you guys tomorrow night... For now, everything is on coarse, and I couldn't be feeling better!!!
WOO HOO !!!!
Snugglepotomus
I was 36 & 38 when I concieved each of my daughters - the first after fertility treatment. At the time I weighed about 250 (5'10").
I was very lucky metabolism-wise. I didn't gain ANY weight during my pregnancies. I weighed the same on theday I delivered as I did when I found out I was pregnant! I guess I was loosing fat, and gaining baby!
I wish you the same fabulous cir****tances! Enjoy your reckless procreation efforts!!
Thank GAWD the nurse at my GYN's office is fat, too. However, my doc is a 100 pound Filipino lady who always gives me the 3rd degree! Okay, she gets to do that ...she is the doctor.
Actually, one can lose while being preggers...eating regular smallish meals is the key, no diet food per se. Stuff like one sandwich with lots of veggies on it, one glass of nonfat milk, one small piece of fruit, that kind of thing.
I gained WAY too much the 1st pregnancy (50 pounds) but got very smart for my second one and only gained 25#.
Just like now, it's about staying conscious and not letting yourself eat foolish amounts. I also exercised religiously both times, felt way better to do that. Worked until the last minute, too, as a cook!
best of luck to you.
Seems like there is an amazing number of questions that come up about nutrition during pregnancy. When you get there, feel free to post them (especially on the nutrition forum).
I'll keep a light on for you!
BTW start 400 mcg of Folate per day starting now. A daily multivitamin wouldn't be a bad idea either.
Best of luck with the appointment! (- or "lube & tune" as I like to call it)
