Abstinence - Day 163
I want to remind everybody that I am not on a diet. I am eating healthy foods, with an occasional treat. I am losing weight, so I want everybody to stop judging me for having an occasional pizza or other fast food. I don't eat it all the time, so it's OK.

Keep it in perspective, denise...it's not everybody!
One person has questions about the concept of abstinence as it relates to OA. I question it myself, even after all these years; it really does not fit when it comes to food. I'm not sure what the term should be, but abstain seems too inclusive. The best I can do with it is that I abstain from foods that are triggers. Not always, cuz these are foods i enjoy: pizza, pasta, rice, crackers. They can be part of a healthy food plan - it is ME who cannot deal, it is not the food.
Please know that I do not judge your food plan. Every one of us has the best laid plans, and foods we do not want to include seem to pop up into our mouths, right????
You are being honest in your daily food report. Obviously, not to US, but for you.
Don't be sensitive - see if you can engage in the discussion!
No one questioned your eating. *I* questioned your continued misuse of the English language.
You're free to do as you like, eat what you want, with impunity. You're a grown woman. If you decided to unhinge your jaw and swallow a Volkswagen microbus, that'd be your business, not mine.
What I do question is that A) It's a 1600 calorie diet (which you once called it) and B) the use of the word "abstinence" to describe it. I'm happy your plan is working for you, I just worry that it could be misleading to you and to others, and as far as I can tell, part of accountability is being honest, especially with yourself. For as long as there's a discrepancy there, I will ask you about it-- I would expect others to do the same with me.
