That is awesome! I would suggest you do a little reading on exercising if you haven't. Your body continues to burn calories after you've stopped exercising. I seriously would not worry about a piece of cake. I'm sure you burned that off plus more with that added exercise. I commend you for PUSHING yourself to the gym.
Just one thing.. Don't get burned out so quickly.. find a pace that is comfortable and you aren't exhausted afterwards. If you got exhasted trying to get your heart rate up to what the treadmill wanted it to be.. I say forget that! When I walk my heart rate is about 120.. Not in the 180s like they suggest it.
This will cause you not to want to exercise at all. Variety and small sessions will help in sustaining a long-term exercise regimen.
