My surgeon mention something about Phentermine but the meds i am it appears that i am more then likely not a person who should take this.. Before reading i am not on this meds and it was an option that was given to me but i am on alprazolam & amitriptyline as well as blood pressure meds. I am going to be talking to my dr about what my options are with a diet pill that doesn't have major major side effects.  Anyways any advise on any diet pills that you have taken after weight loss surgery please offer thanks

hi, Most of us on the non-op board haven't had WLS so you probably won't get a whole lot of information from this board.  Perhaps you can take the question to the main board, I'm sure they will be a whole lot more helpful. good luck!

I took Phentermine in 2005 and had great weight loss results. I only took it for 3 months and then my dr took me off b/c she thought I was becoming addicted to it - the major drawback of the drug. It did help me break through my plateau and I dropped 25 lbs like nothing. But, like I said, the drug is addicting and as soon as you stop taking it - it's harder to lose weight and you really have to be careful about your food choices or you'll gain it back.
