Hi all, I have stayed about the same.  It has been so hot here and very busy that I haven't really wanted to walk.  So I am trying to figure out what I could do indoors for exercise that I would be willing to do often.  Thanks for keeping track. Becky

Hi Tishak, Are you changing your start weight?  I have you at a start weight of 185.4.  I'm not taking weight changes today, just checking in with everyone.  We will only taking weight changes on the 1st day of each month.

I forgot to give you my starting weight.  Please put me down for 208.  This has been the roughest month for me so far since I started losing weight in October.  I have had 14 bad days this month.  I feel terrible.  Thanks for keeping us on our toes.  Summer is hard because the kids are out of school.  I am down 112 pounds and I am going through some emotional stuff.  I need to remind myself that I deserve to lose weight and feel good about myself.  I still have low self esteem issues.  I do not want to put weight on.  I will not weigh until the first.  If I break even for the month I will be happy but I would really like to get under 200 by the end of summer.  Wish me luck.  I am going to take the kids swimming today.  I have not been doing a lot of weight training.  Has anyone else noticed an increase in weight loss with the weight training.  I do mostly cardio.  Bike and walk.  I want to be a success not a statistic.  Darn this is hard.

Yes, yes, yes, it is hard.  But girl, you've lost 112 pounds -- that is phenomenal and you can't stop now.  We all have bad days, bad weeks, even bad months so please don't feel bad about it.  Everytime I go off track  and then beat myself up about it I end up totally derailing myself.  Try to just get yourself together and move on.  No regrets allowed.  You are not alone, most of us have to fight self-sabatage. About weight training, I'm in the camp that believes that weight training is every bit as important as cardio.  They go hand in hand.  Especially for women.  The older we get the more muscle mass we lose, and the only way to combat that is by some form of strength training.  You may experience a slight gain in weight by weight training (muscle weighs more than fat).  But, the increase in muscle helps to burn fat.  So, the more muscle you have the easier you burn fat, which is why men generally can lose weight much faster than women -- they have more muscle mass.  Lifting weights will help to make you look leaner (once all the fat is burned, of course), and make you stronger.  Women don't have to worry about bulking up though.  It is extremely difficult for women to to bulk up because we just don't have enough the right stuff (testosterone) to do it.  Women body builders spend hours a day pumping iron in the gym and have to take "enhancers" to get the bulk. Good luck Mamany, I know you can do it!!

Hey Tali, I've been going straight and steady.  No bad days.  I've been back on the plan as I did at the beginning.  I don't have a lot of moments where I feel weak.  So this week has been good, and last week was good.  No binges, no obsessions to speak of.  I've been exercising even more now, 4-5 times a week, because my son loves going to the gym and wrestling season is starting and he wants to get in shape.

I am going to weigh on the 1st of August like you are.  I just hate being slave to the scale and it has increasingly taken over my feelings of accomplishment, so I don't want to let it.
