Are You Addicted to Food?

To get to your bottom line questions...yes, I do have a food addiction! White grains, all the way, baby.  For that matter, I am pretty driven to eat all grains...just harder to eat too much of whole barley or REAL whole grain bread - not the caramel colored wheat bread they sell ya. White bread, pizza crust, crackers, rice, pasta, it is SCARY how much I can eat.  My defense? I went to OA - praise God. I recognized those aforementioned foods as "trigger foods" and make sure most of the following are in place when they are in front of me:   1.  don't be too hungry, lonely, or tired before I sit down to them,  2.  eat veggies first and lean meats where possible,  3.  avoid them altogether where possible. 4.  measure them and do not allow seconds OA and my research in how to treat bulimia, it became apparent that working at balance in my diet helpd me not crave those foods. This SIMPLE concept had/HAS amazing results.  If your diet has little veggies/fruits, which is the case for most people, just try this: My body...yours too.... will not crave those trigger foods if you work at eating green leafy and red veggies or fruits into your diet. The theory works, I am telling you. It is the part of the pshysiogical response your body has to over eating - your body will not let you rest when it perceives a need for nutrients. Balance...by this I mean:  If you think you eat enuf veggies/fruits, but lack dairy, find a way to add it...you will see this for yourself.
