Anyone else doing/have done low-carb?
So I have done every diet in the books and actually lost 90 lbs. 5 years ago on Weigh****chers but it was too free (i.e. I'd use 20 points on Skinny Cow ice cream sandwiches..) and so I gained it back.
Last June I started my own version of South Beach/Atkins combined.. eating 1200 calories a day max with NO sugar/bread/flour/potatoes, etc.. only the good carbs like vegetables..
Fast forward 13 months, I went from 308 lbs. to 156(as of last week)... not bad I say... but now I want to maintain and don't know how much I can eat because I keep losing.. (not complaining about that, BTW).
I know low-carb diets aren't as clear-cut as lower-calorie/low-fat diets so I am hoping someone can share with me how they maintained their loss. I want to incorporate back GOOD carbs (minus sugar and white flour) but don't know at what rate I should do it..
Any experiences to share? (Greatly appreciated!!!!)

Everybodies bodies are different.....you may have to try a little experiment on your own. Try adding some carbs (the good of course****il it appears you have reached a plateu.....then if you start gaining take them back out.......too bad weight loss/gain is not an exact science..... Also if you are a die hard at exercise you could back off some......I dunno just like to put my two cent in....
AND Congratulations on the incredible weight loss!!!!!

Marta: This is basically my eating philosphy for the past 7 years and the rest of my life.. I'm down 166lbs with 50lbs more to go. It works IMO. How have I kept it off.. stick with the green and non-starchy vegetables.. Shop on the outside of the grocery store... you'll be fine.. If it is in a box.. beware! Sugar free items.. fudgesickles, whip cream, cookies, candies.. are good. If you want something crispy like a chip.. go to the organic part of your supermarket.. They'll have soy crisps.. real good. You can use dip with them too!
