Disgruntled.

First... I have knee surgery scheduled next Thursday. I spoke with the Admin at the Doc's office who is responsible for coordinating surgery and billing last Friday (7/6). I requested the exact amount of my out of pocket costs for the surgery. She said she would need to submit the paperwork and blah.. and would give me a call Tuesday (7/10). I called Tuesday, yesterday, and today and left a message.. Still no response...  The same thing happened with my MRI results... the Physician's Assistant left a message but no number on (Last Tuesday) 7/3.  I had to go up there Friday (7/6), and talk to someone because the phone wasn't working. When I finally spoke with her, she said she'd been calling and calling.. Turns out she had the wrong number. Everytime I call either one of them I get their voicemail. Why am I pissed... well its no problem collecting co-pay at the window before services are rendered, but if you need something out of them.. you'll have to wait until Jesus comes back to get it. It's also making me uncomfortable with the doc too. I really would hate to wake up and they operated on the wrong knee.  Second.. Time Warner and Comcast have merged, and so they decide they want to do an audit on my apartment. I come home and see a flyer for a cable special. I'm like.. oh crap. I already knew what happened. They disconnected my internet cable.. How? I dunno. This is the 4th time this has happened. Yes it's CRAPTASTIC! (tks Shari ) So why I am pissed on this one? Not only it being the 4th time they disconnected my service, BUT anytime you need service from TimeWarner now Craptasticast, it takes them at least 1 week to 1 week and a half to get someone out.. even if you call the same day. Uggggggggghhhhhhhhhhhh! Ok, I'm done.

All those folks should be thankful you aren't a postal worker....or are you?? You did make me laugh although I know it's no laughing matter.  Sometimes you wonder if the people in these places realize they are dealing with real people with real emotions?  I think I HATE voice mail.  I really do.  It's like you know people are sitting there watching their phone ringing and thinking, oh forget it, Voicemail will pick it up.  As soon as I see my little red light on the phone go on I realize I missed a call, for whatever reason.  I immediately pick it up and answer the voice mail.  I understand that people are busy, but how long are you away from your desk, really???? I refrain these days from complaining to any customer service person because it falls on deaf ears.  That and most of the CS work is farmed out to some third world country where you can barely understand them anyhow!!! I did just have a wonderful phone call with a woman at the Wrestling Shoe company where my son bought his shoes.  The shoes he ordered were out of stock so she worked on getting him a pair immediately, considering he needs them by Tuesday. So customer service isn't dead YET. Good luck on your operation and I hope they fix your cable sooner than later!

Nah.. I not a postal worker.. hopefully I won't go "postal" on them! I'm usually really calm, but I am about the business with stuff like this. It irritates me because "I" feel "I" shouldn't be subjected to it! I pay my money, you should at least get your stuff right. Call me when the bill is late, send me a note when I authorize you to automatically draft whatever the bill amount is saying there is balance.., but you want to take your precious time when you mess up.. Ughhhh!

What can one really say except sorry for all the yuck!  Maybe you can think positive thoughts and send positives messages out into the world.  I know it sounds like crap but it works for me much of the time.  Keep your chin up.  Gina  If nothing else, it makes YOU feel better.

Bud, that sucks.  What if you go down to your doctors office and actually stand there and ask for the amount?  They can't send you to voicemail if you show up.  And the Comcast b/s - that stinks.  Definitely worth ranting over.

I'm not going over there anymore.. Fighting that traffic is not worth it. I am going to leave them a voicemail telling them to cancel my surgery. The surgeon's nurse has suggested a doctor who only does knees at the hospital where I am doing the weight program. I'll give him a try.

Hi Bud, I hope getting all that out was cathartic for you, you're usually so quiet.  I was amused, so thanks.  Anyway, sorry for all your frustration, voicemail can be a pain.  About your knee surgery, don't worry, hospitals throughout the world have operated on the wrong limb so many times that now it's standard practice to actually mark the correct limb with a magic marker to eliminate any unfortunate OOOPS.  And they always mark it before they put you under, so just make sure you know which knee is the bad one. I use to always have frustratingly similar problems when I had cable.  Hardly any problems since I got the dish, first Directtv and now Dish Network.  I was very happy with both.  I switched to Dish Network because Directtv's prices were getting ridiculous.

Hey Bud, What a frustrating time you've had.  All I can say is make sure they mark the correct knee before you go under.  It sounds like the Dr.'s office isn't very organized and on-the-ball, but that doesn't necessarily mean the surgeon isn't.  Is there anyone else at the dr's. office you can call?  An office manager perhaps? Ahhhhhhhhhh, Comcast is definitely craptastic at times.  We have them both for cable and our Internet.  When I'm having Internet problems and get one of those lowly reps on the line they don't know what they are talking about.  I swear they are reading from a manual and if you're setup isn't quite like what they are reading then it's your systems problem and not theirs.  I have gotten so frustrated I've hung up on them a couple of times and called my DB to handle 'em.  He's a Computer Systems Analyst and can start talking so over their heads that they send him to a higher level person.
