Weight Update
Well I haven't updated you lately, but in the last three weeks I've lost a total of 9.6 pounds for a total of 25.4 lbs in a little under two months time.
I've been sidelined for 2-1/2 weeks with a problem hip, but I still trying to do some type of exercise. It's gotten better so now I can walk around stores for over 2 hours with no problem. I'm still hesitant to start back on my LesLie Sansone Walking DVD, but am planning on modifying it so I'm sitting down for at least another week. I did this the other day and actually still got a good workout. The bonus was I didn't put pressure on my hip, so not much pain the rest of the day. I'm hoping to be back up to speed within the next two weeks. I pushed my hip too far and didn't give it enough of a break after I first hurt it, which aggravated it even worse and made for a very painful couple of days.
I'm still counting calories (trying to stay in the 1,300-1,500 calorie range) and keeping a food/exercise journal. This last week I started using Slimfast meal replacement shakes for four of my meals. I'm going to try it this week as well and see how it goes. If it seems to be giving me more of a weight loss, then I plan on replacing 4 meals per week with shakes. In this last week I lost 6 lbs alone. Not sure if the big boost is because of this or not. Before this, the highest I had ever lost was 4 lbs.

Hi Edith,
I'm not doing a special program, but am eating much healthier. I got rid of regular Coke/Mountain Dew and replaced it with Diet Pepsi. I'm not a coffee drinker, so this is my caffeine allotment. I have also cut back on my pop intake. With counting calories, I've been making sure to eat fruits and veggies and replacing regular fat items (like mayonaise) with the light version. I'm also exercising. I do have little cheats here and there, but I don't graze like I used to or binge. The food and exercise journal is helping me to make better food choices.
Hope this helps. I'm also in the beginning stages of looking into WLS. I don't know if I will end up going through it, but I want that option in place if it's decided it will be the best way to go to get to and maintain a healthy weight for my 5" 1.5" frame.
Best of luck to you. It can be done, it just takes a lot of hard work. But, aren't we worth it???
