Sorry-- I was miscounting-- was counting surgery day! I won't be drinking that day, since I will be unconscious.)

Tali helped me remember that sodium causes water retention-- which kinda answered my question to "What can be the harm in 4 cups of chicken broth a day?" Damn Optifast already has 2000mgs a day of salt. Gah. Okay, I am cutting back to two cups. Actually, one broth, and one tomato juice (which I heat and pretend it's soup.) I'll weigh in again Tuesday. C'mon 299!

Thanks, Sonja! I am doing okay despite being an idiot-- just realized I forgot to figure in the MILK I add into my SF FF pudding, which means I ate 85 calories more than I intended to yesterday.

Hey Shari, what time is your surgery? Whenever I've had to have any type of surgery I've tried to have it scheduled as early as possible due to the fact that you can't eat or drink anything (besides a little water) before surgery. Hopefully you won't have to go half the day without anything. Although, of course, you won't be able to have anything after your surgery either, but at least you probably won't care much then.

Don't know the time until later, but it doesn't much matter-- I can't eat anything the day before regardless, except yummy bowel prep!

You give me such a good laugh with your quick qit! How the heck do we know how much sodium we are supposed to be taking in a day anywho. Honestly, I was wondering that very question this weekend. My hubs is leaving me marooned on this island for 3 months while the military sends him to a school on the east coast, so I figured I would be buying a lot of frozen meals to keep me on track and away from the temptation of eating out. I know they contain a lot of sodium, but I'm not sure where to figure out how much sodium/day is too much.... hmmm Anywho, enough about me, I'm so excited for you about the surgery - granted the prep is terrible - but hopefully it will all be worth it. Yay! :)

Marooned in Hawaii? Hmmm....why doesn't that sound so bad? ;) The US RDA for sodium is 2400 grams a day on a normal diet. So the 6700 mgs I had the other day during broth fest was a leetle high. (Broth has 990mgs per cup!) The Lean Cuisines run around 700. Drink plenty o' water, a couple a day won't do you in.
