I notice whenever i work out really hard (more than 1.5 hours of cardio + 15-20 minutes of weights) I start getting shaky and tired.  The only way to calm it down is to get some kind of electrolyte boost (all those salts sweat out during your workout...and most people don't replenish them properly).  I don't like powerade or gatorade because of the added calories, so I usually try to eat something more filling with high potassium afterward....usually celery or something like that.   Also, call me weird, but i love how when I eat raw celery, my tongue gets all numb and tingly.  almost the same sensation as when my leg falls asleep.  Has anyone had that sensation before?

It sounds like you triggered all the acids in your muscles, which wipes you out.  It's what makes your muscles burn, and makes them numb.  Just too much at once, girl.  You're fine.

I was about to pour my Berry Splash individual Crystal Light mix into my water.  I just noticed that this is an enhanced flavor.  It claims to have electrolytes and B vitamins.  I don't have the box with me, so I can't say how much.  This may be a good alternative to the sugary gatorade.   Just wanted to throw this out there, since you guys were talking about the downside of those power drinks.
