My OWN MINI CHALLENGE-- a bad idea?

Okay, until Wednesday, I'mma be eatin' like crazy. But for the 12 days after, I will be on a liquid diet. I wanted to see what I could do "on my own" before surgery. It's a matter of pride for me. At first, I wanted to lose 30 pounds. Then 40. Then 50. I hit a goal, I raise the goal. I blame my Germanic ancestry. Now I have lost 56 pounds and am 312. Thing is...that's REALLY close to 300. Any chance I can get under 300 in 12 days of liquids? (Keep in mind I won't have that typical water-weight drop because I have already been keeping things low-cal.) What do you think? Should I even try? Am I CWAAAAZY?

Well, I don't see anything wrong or crazy about challenging yourself while you're on the liquid diet.  Just don't take it too seriously, treat it like a little experiment.  I wouldn't be surprised if you did lose the 12 pounds though, or maybe even a little more even though you've been eating a healthy diet for awhile.

It not cwaaazy!  It a good thing to shoot for.  Just hope for the best, and be prepared if it doesn't work out.  It seems like you have realistic expectations - but don't make yourself mental! Nervous 2

Well to quote Andrea, it is impossible to lose more than 2 lbs of fat per week.. Anything else is water or muscle loss. :)  I say you can lose the 12 lbs mostly because of how restrictive those liquid diets are. Whether it's fa****er or muscle I have no clue!

Thanks for the support--- I have to wonder though how much water could I possibly retain? I ask this because I have lost more than two pounds a week every week for four months-- and I am clearly *increasing* muscle mass (very visible change in that way...) , and not dehydrated, and drink very little water (50 ounces on a very good day) when you consider my overall mass. Maybe the rules expand for supersized folk? I dunno. I can gain 5 pounds between breakfast and dinner, and often do. This weighing-in schizz is a pain in the buttocks.

I've often questioned the 2 pounds per week thing myself because it seems impossible that we could remain hyrdated and yet lose 10 lbs in water in a week.  Our bodies are 60% water though....  I guess I could see how losing water would of course make you lose a lot of weight but still..the hyrdation thing.... If you fall below 60% are you considered to be dehyrdated??  How do the measure that anyway?  Worth some research I guess.

Girl, I lost 10 pounds in one week of a liquid diet.  You can definitely do it.

I think it's very possible!  As said, it won't (may not be) real weight, but who cares? It would be fun to see. I don't know if you can "try" per se...except to maybe get moving more, or stay moving at the rate you are doing. I bet it happens anyway.
