The same or slower.  I don't know.  I've already lost a lot so far (mostly before the surgery) so I might have just been due for a plateau.

Janina, I bet that's EXACTLY what's happening. Other people lose a bucketload at first, but you already started that, so your losses will be naturally slower-- you're probably at a plateau. I do have to school ya 'bout the gym thing, though. I found that without moving, none of this goes easily, so here's what's working for this very obese, lumpy, completely lazy assed girl: 1) If the gym is where you've gotta be, remember you don't KNOW those people, so screw 'em. Ditto for the pool.  fat people get that way by staying in their homes, you know? And if you can get into a water exercise class somewhere, you will find that everyone there is fat, old, or both, so you will be comfortable.

2) The gym ain't where you gotta be: I hate sweating in front of the cheerleaders on their ellipticals, too. In January I could not walk a block. Today I can walk a mile. If you don't wanna be seen (and hate the heat) walk at night! And if you hate walking (and I do!) buy a cheap pair of 3 pound weights and get a chair dancing video-- search "chair dancing" on eBay-- they take 20 minutes, they help you move and tone up, and you don't even have to get offa your ass! I can't tell you how much faster things move if you do. I know it sucks...in my case, it hurts AND sucks, but 30 minutes really does go a long way. Listen to music and it goes faster. Listen-- I am no jock. I'm a hourglass-shaped paperweight. I hate moving and I hate sweating and I hate pain. But it's worth it to get the results I want--- it's worth it for you too!

Chair aerobics huh...hmm it works good? Can you feel the burn? Because I do have the jock in me because I am the a very athletic fat chick lol. But see now days I don't want to do **** because that's how I feel and if I can sit on my fat ass and work out until I feel like walking and going to the gym again I'm down for it! So I will have to look these lovely things up...are they fun?

"Fun" is relative-- right? They are simple to do-- keep in mind, the people on the video are mostly large or elderly, but hey. If you're young and spry, do extra reps, or as I do, finish by doing a bucnh of sit-ups. I don't get the out-of-breath kind of aerobics burn, but I do get really good results in terms of muscle. Search ebay under Jodi Stolove or Chair Dancing. There's a few versions on there most of the time.

It makes a nice alternative on the days you can't walk or swim. "Five Below" sells hand weights for like $5 a pair, and the videos or DVDs are less than $10, shipping included.

Hmm I think I might be interested in it. I will have to order one. If it tones...hmm does it help with loss in weight? Or it just tones you up? Because I suppose I could walk...see I hate the heat and at night Im scared lol. I don't if someone is gonna jump out of someplace and attack my fat butt I can't run fast..i mean I can run but they're gonna catch me regardless!!!! hahaha. SO I guess I could do both! Since I just can't get myself back on track!

I went in and weighed...got worried that Friday would be too rough. I am down one more pound! ending weight...184!!!!  I have lost inches too, so screw that scroungy one lil pound showing on the scale.  I am into one size smaller pants.  Even my bras are getting too big again. I have to dig up my inches taken August 1, 2006 to see how that has ended up.
