Okay everyone, I am gong to do it
After much research, thought and consideration, I went out today and picked up the Alli starter pack ($60.00 at Sam's club).
Tomorrow is Monday, and as we all know, every fresh slate begins on a monday, so I am going to try it and see how it goes.
I intend on following the instructions, and keeping my fat to 15 grams or less per meal, to avoid the gross side effects. I have never taken this before so, I thought I would log my journey on here, by posting once a week or so and recap if and how the weight loss is altered, and to report any side effects, should they occur.
So... wish me luck, cause I'm not getting any younger, and I need to loose 25 pounds before I get pregnant, and again, I am not getting any younger.(31st b-day yesterday)
If anyone is interested, I will post in the subject line something like Alli- week one or day 1, or something like that.
Off I go..... Don't worry everyone, I will pack extra undies just in case...(LOL)

I cut and pasted all of the below from the Alli website. Looks like WLS in a pill, no? I don't think there is a thing wrong with jump starting our weight loss. But what bothers me is this whole marketing of a product that requires you to eat well, exercise and change your life. It's like the "tool" that is WLS and in this case the "tool" is, if you eat too much fat you'll have unpleasant side effects. In the end what they are saying is that in the long run the only thing that will help you to lose weight and sustain that weight loss is a complete change in lifestyle by the use of a modified food plan and increased physical activity. I just wish that this whole entire market didn't exist to prey on people that are desperate. Partner with a registered dietitian to start your weight loss plan
The alli program requires a commitment to healthy eating habits. Because of the way in which alli works, eating meals with too much fat may cause side effects known as treatment effects.
What are treatment effects?
alli™ works by preventing the absorption of some of the fat you eat. The fat passes out of your body, so you may have bowel changes, known as treatment effects. You may get:
- gas with oily spotting
- loose stools
- more frequent stools that may be hard to control
Following a reduced-calorie, low-fat diet is a great way to start your plan to lose weight, but the real power of the alli program is the combination of the pill, the plan, and your commitment to eating right and getting more physically active.
Think you've got what it takes to change with alli?
Working with the alli program means:
- committing to a reduced-calorie, low-fat diet before you take alli capsules
- limiting your daily fat intake
- planning meals
- taking a daily multivitamin at bedtime
- using myalliplan for customized guidance
- getting more physical activity

Thanks for the good wishes ladies...
So far I have nothing exciting to report. I took my first capsule with breakfast, and I haven't had to change my underpants, and no side effects.
It appears as though it takes 2 weeks to see the full benefit, so I think what I will do is weigh in once a week, and post more frequently if I have any side effects.
Thanks again everyone....
