I got to bed last night at 9 p.m. so I was able to get up at 5 this morning to workout.  Why is it that I find it so hard to go to bed at a decent hour?  It’s not like I stay up to all hours of the night, but I know that I need 8 hours of sleep in order to function normally, so if I plan to workout in the morning I must get to bed by 9:00.  It’s not like I’m doing anything constructive when I stay up later than I should, jus****ching t.v.  But, for some reason I almost feel like I’m gonna miss something if I go to bed early.  Whatever… I’m gonna have to get over it and just get my butt in bed whether I want to or not.  Because I know from experience that if I don’t get my exercise out of the way first thing in the morning, it ain’t gonna get done. So, everything’s on track for today, I threw the junk out last night, I worked out this morning and I brought my SS meals to work with me.  All systems are go and it’s gonna be a great day!

Gosh I wish I could get my ass out of bed at 5am. HA! Or atleast 6:30am. That would work for me. But I LOVE to sleep....more than eating I think. Nah they're about even. I always want to get up in the morning to walk or something but I just hit the snooze button EVERY time. And I am a night owl...I like watching my tv shows that come on. I just can't go to bed at 9am. Ugh, I wish I was like you and could get up! Keep it up you're doing great!

Oh man, 5 a.m. is early.  To me that's still night time.  I am a morning person, just not quite that early.  I give ya credit...YOU GO GIRL!!!!!  I'm like you, I need my 8 hours of sleep.  Makes me a happier person, plus with my sleep apnea it's a must in order to function. It is gonna be a great day, have a good one.

The thing about the t.v. is I simply haven’t been the same since I got satellite about 7 years ago.  There are so many things on t.v. now that I want to watch that it (the dish) has changed my life and not necessarily for the better.  I use to read for a couple of hours everyday and almost all day on Sundays.  Not anymore.  I’m lucky if I get an hour of reading in a day, and nothing on Sundays, there’s simply too much good stuff on the tube.  I’ve thought about going cold turkey, but the shock to my system might kill me. About getting up early.  I’m a morning person and getting up at 5 is nothing for me if I’ve had enough sleep.  There have been many mornings when I’ve gotten up at 4:00 to workout.  Those were the days when I was trying to workout for a couple of hours a day.  Needless to say that didn’t last long.

I've always found lots of shows to watch on TV. The problem way back when was that I was never home to watch them at the time they came on. Usually I was working or doing something different so I missed the shows.  Now that I have a DVR I can record all of the shows I want to watch.  You would think this was a blessing but honestly it's a curse because now I will sit in front of the tv for 6-8 hours watching my pre-recorded shows.  I'm a big Star Trek, Stargate and other sci-fi type show fan. One would think that you could continue with life as normal and jus****ch the shows whenever you had a chance but it's not like that.  Because now you can record EVERYTHING you want to watch you just HAVE to sit down and watch it before it auto-deletes of the DVR.  I keep telling myself I'm canceling my cable and turning in the DVR but then another show comes and it's "I'll do it after this series is over..".  Depressing almost! I could be out walking or doing other stuff with my wife.  I suppose if it's not the TV then it's gonna be the computer and I can't get rid of that.

Oh Chris, I feel your pain!!  I've thought about jus****ching (or taping) a few select shows but can't make up my mind about which ones to let go.  After awhile it just gets ridiculous and something's just got to give, but what?

Yah!  It's like I KNOW I can do without the tv shows but I just love watching them.  I just wish I could get as passionate about walking and exercising as I do about tv and world of warcraft.  If I walked more then that means that it'd be more time with the wife and she's be just delighted with that!  She hates my sci-fi and computer games! lol

Well they say that it’s possible to switch addictions.  I want to learn Spanish and I did some research and subsequently bought these audio CDs called “Learning Spanish Like Crazy” which are supposed to be really good.  So far I’ve only used them twice and I really think that I could learn Spanish if I used them on a regular basis. I had promised myself that I was going to practice one hour every evening but that will, of course, cut into my t.v. time.  Well, I’m already working on changing my diet and exercising regularly.  Too many changes at once is not good right?

Hi Gael, I will be weighing myself and posting my weight every Saturday morning whether I like it or not. Wow, 2 a.m. huh, I just couldn't do it.  How much sleep does your body require?
