Tali's Journey - Day 11

Looks like I’m having a little trouble getting out of vacation mode.  Yesterday evening when I got home from work I ate my Seattle Sutton dinner but was still hungry.  So, instead of having something healthy like a fruit smoothie, I ate some candy and some Fritos that I had stupidly kept in the house after my trip.  And, this morning when the alarm went off I was so tired that I reset the alarm, turned over and went back to sleep which means I didn’t workout this morning.  Not going to dwell on either of those things though, just going to keep right on stepping.

good for you not to dwell. the important thing is to learn from this experience - did you toss the fritos? if its not in your house, its much more difficult to munch on it.  can you exercise a little bit tonight after work? or after dinner? (that also may keep you from hanging out around the kitchen and snacking). even if you say you'll just do 15 minutes or something. it will help you feel better not only physically but also feel good about doing something good for yourself and getting back on track.

Good idea Andy, I think that I will get on the bike for a few minutes this evening.  I won't do my full workout routine, but doing a few minutes will offset things a little.  I haven't thrown out the junk food yet, but I'm going to as soon as I get home.  I know from past experience that I cannot keep food in my house that I'm trying to stay away from.  Even if I'm able to ignore it for days, eventually I will cave in and have to have it.  I certainly won't jump in my car and go get something that I shouldn't have, but if it's right there in front of me....

I just had my lunch and it was quite good.  I’m so glad that I decided to go with Seattle Sutton.  Not only are there meals good and nutritious, their menu is quite varied and I find myself eating things that I wouldn’t ordinarily eat, and enjoying them.  For breakfast this morning I had a banana muffin and an apricot.  I don’t ever recall eating an apricot before and it was good.  Just now I had raw carrots with spinach dip, a tiny cup of gazpacho and a dark roll.  Now, that’s a meal I would never have had on my own, but it was all tasty.  From what I’ve read, the meals are on a 5-week cycle, so you don’t see the same meal for 5 weeks.  I think that’s great.  I don’t know about anyone else, but I generally eat the same meals over and over again.  Seattle Sutton is expanding my horizons.

Okay, I just threw away the rest of the junk food.  Among what I had left was a large unopened bag of M&M almond.  Hated to throw that out, but it had to be done.  Better in the garbage than on my already severely bloated stomach.   Changed my mind about working out though, too tired.  I'll make sure I go to bed early so that I can get up early enough to workout in the morning. Off to eat my dinner, watch a little t.v., and hit the sack.
