Hey yall. I was jus****ching the news, and they had a short story on Alli. They said it ha**** stores and is already selling out, BUTT...doctors are concerned about the side affects, and they are suggesting users "wear dark clothing"... Like my pun?

The boards are up and running at the Alli site. People from all walks of life -- post-ops, pregnant, breastfeeding, already on weight loss plans (NS, JC and, sadly, especially WW) -- have set great store in this pill.

Geez, I just read a post from a lady who was in the clinical trials a few yrs. ago. Ya, she lost the wt. but gained back after going off her "eating plan". Soooo, whats the diff? And she said the "seepage" (poo leaks) stain your undies and anything you sit on! EEE Gads! She said the side effects are a insentive to NOT eat the fat. Yikes, might as well have "dumping"?
I took it a few years back as Xenical. It was awful, as described.
My father had also been on it for about three months, when he went out on a morning fishing adventure with his buddies. Let's just say that it was more than seepage when it soiled his jeans....and the smell was ungodly and it was very evident to all on the boat. Completely humiliating.
I seriously, would not take this product again!
I was reading about Alli this morning, and it seems like people are confused as to what exactly this pill can do.
It appears as though the gas with oily discharge happens if you are eating a cheeseburger and fries for lunch. It is not a regular side effect for people who use it properly.
You are supposed to limit your fat intake to 15 grams per meal. If you eat in excess, the overload of oils will lead to oily discharge, but if you are eating reasonably, and within that 15 grams of fat per meal it will not.
It does not work on curbing the cravings, does not affect the heart or mind, it simply acts biologically to remove fat before it is stored.
That being said.... It is marketed as a good "helper" to those who are already making good decisions, but it won't benefit someone who is looking for a miracle pill that will melt all the fat away, and plans on taking one before they eat a # 1 at McBarfles.
I do not personally advocate the use of pills for weight loss, but I wanted to get the facts and educate myself on how it actually works, and hence I thought to pass on my vast vault of knowledge.... :)

Thank you! That really answers a lot of the questions! To be honest I'm not sure I need it. I already experience the side affects if I eat a cheeseburger and fries. My stool does get quite very oily and soft when I eat that crap. It's pretty disgusting. Maybe I should try it and become a test subject to see just what it does. :)
