Weekly Weigh In

Well another week done and I am two more pounds down, so I'm now at 363.6.  That is a loss of 12.5 pounds in a month.  Woooooooooooooooo Hoooooooooooooooo I'm so happy with this progress, especially since I was side lined from exercising.  I stepped wrong this last week and felt a pop in my right knee that stopped me from exercising for three days.  I wanted to give it a chance to heal.  At such a high weight I do have a fear of hurting one of my legs to the point where it would put me out of commission for quite a long time.

Awesome news.. especially when I am having such a craptacular start to my week with my 4 pound gain. It can be so easy to let ourselves get sidetracked when something out of our routine happens, and the greatest challenge is to keep moving forward, instead of throwing in the towel and starting on Monday. I can't tell you how many Monday's I have had. I am so happy for you.... Keep it up.... Stay in your positive mind space...

Thanks.  Believe me I've fallen off the wagon and not known how to get back on before.  I've been on my healthy eating plan for a month now and did fall off in a big way after the first week for a day.  I racked up 2500 calories...YIKES!!!  Just keep remembering your goals and start today as a new day with lots of possibilities.  I'm one of those the glass is 1/2 full people.  You can do this snugglepotomus.  We're all in this together.  I hope your week goes better.

My right knee too! My BF explained how that happens, and it really makes sense. Say you have a big fat thigh, and a big fat calf. If you bend the joint tightly, because of the large sections relative to the tiny joint,  you create a fulcrum, and it pops the kneecap out. Makes sense, huh? It keeps me from walking on occasion. Since I have that problem too, I have videos and small hand weights I can use. Look up "Chair Dance" on ebay and order one-- they're not too hard, and you can do 'em with soup cans!  That way, being off of walking doesn't mean I am down for the count! Congrats on your loss! What a great effort!

Thanks for explaining that Shari.  It makes perfect sense.  Yup, I've got HUGE thighs...though they seem a tiny bit smaller.  Luckily it didn't keep me from walking without major problems where I needed to go, but extra walking or exercise was definitely out. Thanks for the ideas on the chair dance video.  I'm going to search that out right now.  I definitely want to be prepared for if/when this happens again.

Two pounds a week is excellent progress.  Congrats! I can identify with an injury -- a few months after hitting my highest weight I injured myself and took three weeks off.  Do take care of yourself and get moving when you can.
