Weekend report

Hi Guise! Well howdja all do this past weekend?  I had mostly successes in my health choices:  I kept my drinking down to three drinks (albeit stiff ones) on Thursday and Friday nights.  My meals were very good for breakfast and lunch, a little on the rich side for supper, but wonderful portion sizes.  I skipped bread plates, and lunch dessert offerings and cookies or candy at meetings.  I did have dessert bites both nights, like 3-4 bites of whatever decadence was passed around. At home, i got back on track and ate low cal yesterday. Exercise:  did a 30 minute walk on Friday morning and a 45 minute walk on Saturday morning before meetings. Sunday we did a family bike ride for one hour, so leisurely pace with grandsons and lots of side trips down to creeks. I would forecast that I did not gain this weekend. I plan on weighing in Tuesday.  I'm off this morning for an hour's walk before work.

Friday-- I got in 1269 calories (30% were fat, which I am trying to wrangle back down), and only a half-mile walk-- family issues soaked up our evening. We did go to Saladworks, and I had soup, salad and a roll, which was quite tasty. Saturday1209 calories (23% fat)--includes a trip to a Chinese buffet, which ain't easy!) and we swam for an hour

Sunday-- 879 calories-- we went to the Art Museum and got back in late afternoon, so my meal was a burger and soup and nothing else but a breakfast bar in the AM. High in fat (39%!), but at least low in cals. Tons o' walking in the museum (first time I ever did it all in one trip-- last time I swore I'd get a scooter!) and came home and did a half hour of free weights and some stretching with the Sig Ot. My goal this week is to get the fat down again. 25% or less, every ding-dong day. Not easy for me, but I am gonna try.

My meals weren't to unhealthy.  `Cept for sunday night when I had some hot wings. :)    What got me is the damned trail mix.  That stuff is addicting!  I bought some Sam's Choice Cajun mix from wal-mart along with some mountain mix.  OMG it's so good. :) I ended up killing the cajun over the weekend.  No routine exercise. It's been a while since I've done that.  Saturday I helped my brother out by trailering his truck back to my house and fixing it.  Not to strenuous but I did get a lot of walking in going back and forth for tools and such.  I also had to fix my trailer after hauling his truck.  Found out my tires were rubbing the wheel wells so I had to grind off the pop rivets and bang out the inner wells.  I lost 1 lb from this activity alone.   It was quite painful actually.  In fact it's killing me today.  I ended up getting my palm stuck in the angle grinder and before i realized what had happened I managed to grind off about a 1/4 inch of flesh.  :)  Wanna see it???? Didn't even hurt...until i put it under the water lmao!  So now I'm here at work trying to type with a bum hand.  Still trying to figure out why having a bandage over it feels better than having out in the open air.  For whatever reason the open air makes the blood rush to the top and it starts hurting like hell!

Oh freak out! OUCH  Your hands have a lot of nerve endings, so even the stupidest tiny cut is way out of line on the pain-o-meter! Your cut sounds horrid. Hi Son! been missing you.  Trail mix bad.

Yah! tell me about it!  I get the trail mix to bring as a snack at work but obviously I'm way out of control cuz I couldn't resist it this weekend. I'll try to be around a little more often. It's difficult with the new job because there's this no internet policy and stuff. :)  Perhaps if I get in trouble I'll say they are just picking on fat people and raise a big stink.. heheheh  Then again..I really like this job!

My weekend sucked!  I had to make 250 chocolate chip cookies for my son's band potluck on Friday.  We came home with about 100 left - - which I probably ate at least half of while on a margerita high Saturday night!!  Saturday I did ok with food, except that I only at one real meal.  Same with Sunday since I stayed in bed most of the day and then had pizza for dinner.  I'll be thoroughly amazed if I haven't gained 5 pounds at my weigh in tonight.  Sonja

I think you're going to be amazed.  If you did good the all the other days of the week I imagine you probably still lost.   I've been screwed up for the last 3-4 weeks and I've binged on cookies on at least 3 occasions I can think of and I haven't gaied a pound.  Not to say it won't come on soon though if I continue like this.  I guess what I'm saying is don't sweat it, it's not going to matter in the grand scheme of things.

I love your optimism!!  Wanna put money on it?  Better yet, if I'm right you have to come to AZ and run laps around the pool while I watch and catch some rays!!

Heheh I'm pretty sure I'm right but if you insist!   If I lose, is it okay if I accidentally trip and fall into the pool on occasion??

Sure - falling in the pool is fine.  But you have to clean it first 'cuz I can't seem to get the hubby to do it!
