OKAY FOR YOU WOMEN WHO HAVE GIVEN BIRTH..... I NEED TO START "ONE MORE TIME" TRYING TO GET SOME SELF CONTROL AND "START A "NEW DIET" OR WHATEVER GLOSSED OVER WORD YOU WANT TO CALL IT.    HOWEVER, I AM PUSHED TO EXHAUSTION.  IT LIKE LABOR WHERE YOU PUSH AN PUSH AND PUSH AND YOU RUN TOTALLY OUT OF STRENGHT TO PUSH ANYMORE.  WELL THAT IS WHERE I AM COMING FROM WITH THIS DIET STUFF.  I AM 60 YEARS OLD.  I CAN WRITE DIET BOOKS....ANYKIND YOU WANT.....I JUST DONT HAVE THE ENERGY AND THE FAITH THAT I CAN DO IT AGAIN OR THAT IT WILL MAKE ANY DIFFERENCE IF I DO.    I HAVE BEEN READING THE WLS FORUMS....THAT SOUNDS GOOD AND MAY BE GOOD BUT EVEN IF I DO THAT I NEED TO GET THIS BINGE UNDER CONTROL.  I HAVE GAINED 20 POUNDS SINCE CHRISTMAS JUST CONSIDERING THE SURGERY ANGLE.  I THINK IT WAS TAKING EVERYTHING I HAD TO JUST KEEP THE SAME WEIGHT.  WHEN ANOTHER OPTION PRESENTED ITSELF.....WELL I JUST QUIT PUSHING.   SO SOMEBODY GIVE ME AN IDEA AS TO WHAT MIND GAME OR WHATEVER IT IS THAT I NEED TO REGAIN SELF CONTROL. I HAVE TO DO SOMETHING.  NOW!

Hiya,      I've had natural childbirth three times, so I guess I qualify (last one was 10lb 10oz)! LOL      First, take a deep breath.  Look at what you're going to do as lifestyle changes...not a temporary diet.  But before I offer any advice, could you give us a few details?  How much water do you drink in a day?  How often do you eat and when?  What healthy foods do you like to eat and what are your worst binge foods?  How active is your daily life?  Do you do any kind of cardio exercise?      There is a wealth of knowledge here, and we'll be glad to help in any way we can.

I sit at my desk all day, I come home and watch young and the restless, I talk to mom for 30min then I go to bed.   I eat junk food.   favorite healthy food.......uhhhhh..........mandarin oranges, cottage cheese, cheese, eggs,  I dont know really ... I never thought about it very much.   I only think about what I am not supposed to eat.....odd that is what I go for........I think it is because I am always going to go on a diet and I am getting the last high before the hanging in the morning.   Water.....uuuuhhh what does it look like? water????????

What if your dietary changes allowed the things you like best even though they are lousy for you? I really don't like having those 100 cal paks around much, but say you had a thing for Doritos. Could you have 1 100 cal pak of those as apart of your lifestyle, and then feel okay, knowing it's there if you need it? When I started, I had a couple boxes of Cheez Its-- made a rule that I could *never* have more than one a day-- and soon after forgot they were even there, when I started to prefer eating foods that were actually *doing* stuff for me. You really *can* still eat just about anything-- you just have to budget for it.  Start by keeping a record of what you eat, maybe-- that helped me. FitDay.com is a really easy way to track what you eat every day-- give it a try, and see if you can't just bring things down a smidge to start?

Well I went to the Fit Day site.   I ate nothing but carbs and fats.  I got 3percent of the protein I was supposed to have .   I was 33 percent over the calories alloted and as far as nutrients nothing but phosporus and vit E were at 100per cent everything else was under 10 percent.    sheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeesh.

Well-- now you know where you can start! See if you can try to get your protein up and your fats down! Just look at the pie graph on the top right-- ignore the rest. Normal diets apparently are about 50% carbs, 25% protein, and 25% fat...somethin' like that. And a multivitamin! ya gotta take yer vitameens!

no water graze all day binge = little debbie cakes i had a stapling job.  it prevents me from eating anything really good for me unless I puree it in the vita-mix.   I have a bad set of dentures so I cant chew well.  I hate this staple thingy.

Hi Rose - well, I understand how ya feel - the exhaustion, the defeated feelings.  But look at the bright side, you came HERE! So, one mustard seed of your will has not let go. Hang in here, lurk for a while at least.  Better yet, ask sum questions. Make tiny changes in your life.  Maybe it's add a raw veggie to your purported junk food diet. BTW, how do you define junk food? Maybe we can help you re-design some of your best loved junk food items? I mean, do ya like pizza?  Try Shari's recipe!!!! You may be shocked at how good healthier foods can taste. Give us a whirl, Rose! PS:  Interesting that you used terms related to giving birth!  Why not look at it like giving birth to the YOU that you know is inside. You'll forget the pain of childbirth and get into taking care of Rose, your new baby!

Junk food is what you eat that is already ready, you dont have to think about, quick to eat, and feels like a valium.   I am not trying to be smarty.  It may be that I am being honest.
