I went to my LAST Family Reunion yesterday

So sorry your reunion wasn't a happier one.  I've had similar experiences, though unfortunately I used to get them from my dad.  I have found through the years it helps to differentiate so some are relatives while others are true family.  My dad, he's a relative through his own choosing while my siblings will always be family including my wonderful SIL.  For me, blood only makes you a relative, not necessarily a part of my FAMILY. 

Ooooh I LIKE that philosophy.  Relatives, but not necessarily family.  That's a keeper.
