Wednesday Weigh In
Well, it had to happen sooner or later; last week I gained a pound. There is a really simple reason too, I got off track over the weekend. Fortunately I was mostly back on track by Monday and I'm now solidly back on track. Back in February I got off track for most of the month, so I am improving at least ;)
Last Wednesday I was feeling really great having lost another 9 pounds when I was expecting a lower amount like 5 or 6. Coupled with my new job and just how I've been feeling so much better lately, I think I was looking for a way to reward myself. Right now, unfortunately, my reward structure centers largely around food and I need to find a way to replace that.
Awwww we carrrrre! Lol Sorry, tops has sunk in deep already! You've got a great attitude about this all. I have yet to see you beat yourself up over anything. That's an excellent trait and I am positive you're gonna be one of us to make it all the way to goal and keep it off!
You could always try replacing your rewards the Peter Pan way... You know, how they imagined they were eating all of this yummy food but yet there wasn't anything in their plates?? :) heheh
Good job getting back on track. Weekends are so hard for me too. I try to fill my days with activity to help keep my mind off of the food. Seems like my husband always wants to eat out on Sundays. Eating out is not good for me. I always overdue it. Now I plan a healthy meal for Sunday so that going out is not an option. Stay focused and lets have a good weekend.
Hi Bert,
great positive attitude, and great loss so far. You know, I was thinking something as I was reading your post. Don't you find it frustrating that you can be mostly good, and for us mostly good is a heck of a lot of good, and still gain that ridiculous pound? I mean heck, we go from eating 10,000 calories a day to 1200 and lose, but if we go off for a little while suddenly we gain just like that?
I have come to realize that it's not really a "gain" as in poundage. As someone says, you'd have to eat and absorb 3500 calories and expend NONE of that in order to truly gain that pound. Now, considering we burn calories just sitting watching television, not to mention the ones we actually burn by moving, I find it hard to believe that we can consume and absorb 3500 calories and truly gain that pound overnight.
Sorry for rambling, it's just frustrating sometimes!
Stay positive!
Donna
Hiya Donna. I know exactly what you mean about that frustration thing. You work and work and work, and it can be for months, but as soon as you let up, the last 5 pounds you lost are ready to jump back on overnight and the rest of them follow at a rate of at least twice as fast as what it took you to lose them
