Any Help
I have been in your shoes. I would try try try and sure enough I would talk myself right out of doing it. Today is different because I have a support system in place that helps me when I can't help myself. My husband had WLS because he had the same mindset as us. Well with that said I figured since he HAD to change his eating habits I could TRY. So far we have had to hold each others hand once or twice but just knowing that WE are doing this together makes it easier. Not laways easy but easier. There are days when I want nothing more than to eat my weight in carbs, any kind. Those are the days when things run through my head of what people on these forums have said. What would it solve other than a quick fix and get me startedd on the road of destruction again. The people here are so understanding to our plight.
You may not know how - who could with all the conflicting information out there? Look around here and see if something someone is doing helps you, seems like something you might do.
There is no one answer. The maxim one hears, "Eat less, move more" is too general, huh? I would say buy foods that are of the highest nutrition as high in protein and low in fat as you can stand: low/nofat dairy, plain meats, plain veggies, even potatoes, fresh fruits or canned in lighter juice, lowfat mayo, lofat dressings, To me, after so many diets and crazy ideas, it comes down to planning each days meals, with every meal, make sure you have 2-4 ounces of a protein, 1/2 c to 1 cup of rice, pasta, whole grains, as much veggies as you can stand with very little toppings. I firmly beleive eat greens at least once daily, dark leafy like they are medicine, even if you have to put it in a blender and sock it down. Buy frozen spinach or chard or turnip greens. Put it in a pan with a little water, cook til hot, drain well, and top with balsamic vinegar. Chnaces are your body feels hunger constantly because you don't give it what it needs: good food in the right portions. Please post questions for us if we can be more specific!
