had to back off a bit tonight...Been eating supper as soon as I get home (5ish) and then doing walking around 6:60 or so.  Toningt DD was supposed to come visit, so we decided to go and eat later.  About half way thru first lap of a .66 mile track my legs cramped up.  Pushed myself to make two laps for a total of 1.33 miles.  Had to stop and go eat.  I'm not sure what happened, don't know if blood sugar went haywire, just didn't have enough fuel, or maybe my potasium dropped.  I thought the multi-vitamins I am taking had enough potasium, but turns out it only has 2% of daily value.  Does anyone have any experience with this?

Best way to avoid cramps is to stretch before exercising. What does DH and DD mean?  Something husband and something daughter? Did my walking and cycling yesterday, 53rd day in a row.  I went to the dry cleaners yesterday and the woman there said I was looking great!  That tickled me, I know I'm feeling better and losing, but it's good to know other people notice also!

Hmmm, my DH gets a cramp in his calf once in a while, and that sucks - he just has to wait it out. I recall that my calves barked for a long time when I first started my walk/jog thing 21 years ago.  I had to work thru it, stretching did not help. I did my walks on an empty stomach, first thing in the am, but somehow it never occurred to me to eat something first. Who knows that may have helped me too! I don't think it was a potassium drop - that usually happens after a biggo workout. Potassium comes from veggies, fruits, have you been doing good on eating that stuff? I'm with Al, may be a stretch thing before you go is worth a try. It cannot hurt to eat a light snack or drink some low sugar gatorade - just a little bit, not one of those bog chugs of it.
