weight loss medication...
Yep, I sure did. Don't misunderstand me though, it's not the water that made me lose the weight. I'm sure it contributed somehow bu****er doesn't burn fat or calories or anything like that. I'm not sure what it is about soda but it's VERY bad for you and it was all I drank, either that or kool-aid and sweet tea. I actually drank only diet sodas, but the other sodas have a LOT of calories and a LOT of sugar. Very bad for you. I also think soda's tend to make you retain water and maybe even fat. I'm not sure about the science behind that but I'm speaking from experience. Cutting out soda, tea and kool-aid made me lose 10 lbs in the first week and it was a piece of cake. You may not experience the same results as I did but I am pretty positive you will lose something. Weigh yourself in the morning, naked, after peeing to find your true weight. Then cut out all other beverages except for water.
The whole theory about drinking half your body weight in water is flawed. You should drink a minimum of 64 ounces of water a day. That's 8 typical glasses. I've never had a problem drinking water so I went straight to 80 ounces a day for that week. As a result I think I might have even ate less because I felt so full from the water. You're going to pee like crazy for the first little while as your body releases all the water and it becomes accustomed to being hydrated. I do not recommend exceeding 120 ounces a day though and especially do not try to down 64 ounces in one sitting. It literally can kill you. However, drinking the water on a regular basis throughout the day is perfectly safe, well unless you pee your pants then it might be a little embarassing! :D Drinking more than 100-120 ounces a day isn't going to do anything for you. Heck, drinking more than 64 ounces probably won't do anythign either but what it will do is help you to feel full. That's really the secret. It's a natural appetite suppresant!
Start small, try to get in 20 ounces. If that's too easy, then step it up. You wouldn't believe how easy it is to get in 64 ounces and for me 80-120 is nothing! It can be the same for you!
actually soda has a lot of caffeine in it, which acts as a diuretic. you lose weight when you start drinking a lot of water because most people walk around pretty dehydrated. once you are properly hydrated, you are able to lose the "water weight." its sort of a backward way of thinking - drink water to lose water - but its true. there is nothign inherently wrong with diet soda, as long as you are getting enough other pure fluids to balence it out (again, moderation is the mantra).
