My other 2 cents is, try dishing up 2 cups of supper and make sure you have a mondo bowl of unadorned veggies to go with it:  salad with low cal dressing, broccoli, whatever. I discovered that how much we put on our plates is a habit. Just make the first serving close to what you know it should be. Also:  smaller plates - love this - DH uses a friggin charger, me, a salad size plate. Another thing I do is make myself wait 15 minutes before getting up to get 2nds!  It worked last night for me - I SOOOOO wanted more ultimate fish sticks. But I made myself wait.   Then I went outside to plant some flowers and luckily got all wrapped up in that - oh and slappin off skeeters.

Man, you have had a lot of issues to deal with and I think you have done really well to overcome so many of the hurdles.  No, I do not think you are a just wishy-washy normal person.  I think you are a very strong person living in a fallen world, who still has a couple of hurdles to get over.  You have come so far in life, don't let the weight thing beat you.

Hi Chris, I don't know about you but I know my trigger foods are carbs.  Anything white flour sends me to the ground.  I can't stop, so I don't start.  When you mentioned that you ate a pasta dish I would have considered myself down for the count!!! Have you identified your trigger foods?   Your breakfast and lunch sounds reasonable, although I'd tend to limit the carbs such as no rice with the chili and no bread with the pasta.  Your dinner probably could have been more protein dense and you wouldn't have eaten as much.

It's not about willpower, I read an article that stated that overweight people had probably more willpower then most because of the sheer amounts of times we attempt "dieting".  I find that it's really a mind over matter issue, at least for me.  I can talk myself out of those foods that just don't do anything for me nutritionally or that trigger my bad habits.  I can do that probably 95% of the time.  The other 5% of the time I just pray. :haha:   Chris, all I can suggest is to keep on keeping on.  Every single day is one more opportunity to succeed in this battle. Good luck!! Donna
