New to the forum and OH
Hi Bert,
I'm a newbie on this board, as well. Still hoping for surgery but don't want to hold back on life anymore.
Super terrific weight loss so far!!!!You really should be excited!
I know what you mean about checking over your shoulder all the time waiting for the setback. I guess all we can do is keep patting ourselves on the shoulder with every new success instead!
Everyone here seems super supportive and committed to getting healthy so I'm sure it will be great participating with you too!
Hi Bert,
I think it's great that you are doing this for yourself. I know how you're feeling. But as seen through your success already, it can be done. I think for me it was just one day I had finally decided I wanted to change. At my hieghest weight, I was 428. It took me 3 years but I lost 220 lbs through diet and exercise. I'm not a goal yet. But, I feel sooooo much better about myself. I know you will too. I'm sure you already feel it!!!
Don't get discouraged with set backs, they happen. The important thing to do is just start up again. Lord knows some of my setbacks lasted more than a week or two. The nice thing with setbacks though, is that they can only last so long because your body just feels gross when you revert back to it's old ways. My body just starts screaming at me "What the hell are you doing!" And I know it's time to get out of my funk. I have also learned what sets me off-breads and sweets, so, I try to stay away!!!
Keep up the great work. You are so worth it! Please feel to ask any questions of me or any of us on the board. Everyone it so wonderful here!!
